Pre-race routine:

I don't really know what I was thinking when I walked out the door. I had a camping chair and a cooler full of Irish beer. I had a change of clothes in case it continued to rain. But I failed to take a jacket...it was raining and cooold! So, I made a quick stop and purchased a sweatshirt on the way downtown.
Event warmup:

The Racing Greyhounds had a tent near the starting line so I hung with the group before the race.

Comments:

I felt good. I ran with Kim, Kathleen, and a few others. The pace was good, I never felt like I wanted to die and I was able to finish strong. It was a good run for me. Although the time is not what I was hoping for, I'm happy with the effort.
What would you do differently?:

I felt good...which means I could have pushed a little harder.
Post race
Warm down:

Car bombs at the Greyhound tent....and trying not to freeze (thanks for the golves Mike).

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Big crowd, had to dodge lots of people for the first 1.5 miles. Also was hard to keep focused with all of the dudes in skirts (kilts), the lady running with a 3 foot tall pinata, the guy with the warewolf head and the running bannana. (j/k...those people just made me laugh).

Event comments:

I love this race....so much fun and always stay downtwon after for the parade. It was very cool hanging with the Greyhounds and BT'ers.
