Pre-race routine:

was up at 4 to get to the event....was there in time....alot of people were bringing their bikes in on day of....something to remember in the furture....ensure to eat something that agrees with you next time

no swim.......lake had a small craft warning they could not get saftey craft out to watch over us.....waves 7-9 ft.....not good conditions for swimming

had to keep the pace down to ensure enough energy for the run....would like to avoid this in the furture....the only way to do that is to do this once a month or would help....

What would you do differently?:

need to run the long distance more...of course comming off knee problems did not help

What limited your ability to perform faster:

my lack of running longer distance before the event...knee problems contributed to this but it always seems that something happens to mess up the running after BTG....

Event comments:

good race...does have a chance of the swim going south for the event ....twice in the last 5 years....but still was a great event

Course: was thru the rual countryside....was ok for a majoity of the race but some roads needed allot of work done on them.....was ok overall....the last 16 miles in was on good road and on most of ther road going out....

Course: was a screwy course.... out on a big hill and back to the event on it but 2 laps in smaller circles on the whirlpool place.....there was enough water and stuff on the course but not alot that i was accustomed to ....had the gatoraide and water .....had to stop that on mile 10 because the stomach was getting to erpy....temp was great ...think the hi for the day was great weather for running....
