Pre-race routine:

Ate a power bar, drank a gatorade, played with BDK and trix. Asics convention at the start line. Apparently we missed out on signing up for running as hazmat japenese uniformed, james bond badguys.
Event warmup:

Walked 2 blocks to the race start, freezing my ass off.

Comments:

Started off uphill, this shoulda clued me in it was gonna be a long day. Wanted to run 10's consistently and did fairly well with this, until half way. We were whooop whoooping everyone, and making everyone around us laugh. It was so hard to run and laugh that hard, but we did it. This was the VERY first race I've ever done with not one stitch of electronic equipment on my person. I felt nekkid, but I survived!

All the port-a-potty lines were stoooopid long, so we opted not to stop. Bad move cuz I needed to pee before the gun sounded. Didn't think it would be a good idea to pee in tights in 35 degree weather. We ran a bit further and I saw a construction site complete with a dumpster and port-a-potty! WOO HOO! One for me, one for trix! Shoo dang! Much better!!

My race nutrition was gonna be candy corn punkins every mile and pretzels when I needed salt. I forgot to punkin until mile 4, and then again around 7. By then, Rick would hold the bag up and Trixie and I would jump up and down screaming Trick or Treat until he gave us one. Then he offered "Halloween candy anyone" to the crowd, sadly, no takers.

Rick and Trix thought it would be fun to bark like dogs for awhile. Trix was a little ankle biter chihuahua and Rick tried to be Vader the Great Dane. That was funny shit right there, I don't care who you are!!

Top 10 race funnies:
1. Look like she got two fine hams and shoved them down the back of her dress.
2. Rick's in the left turn Nascar club.
3. If I had a hammer....what would you do?...
4. I'm not a playa, I just crush a lot.
5. Albert Pooooholes
6. Kelly Rules. What are those? I didn't see that rule book.
7. Big trucks turn wide right.
8. Shake that Florida Ass G8R (bellowed from 300 yds away)
9. My ass looks like two bulldogs fighting under the front porch.
10. Here's why dogs don't need toilet paper.
What would you do differently?:

Absolutely nothing. This was a PR for me, so WOOFREAKINGHOO!! This was the most fun I've ever had running a race! We laughed so hard my abs hurt more than anything else!! Now, if I could run harder/faster/longer AND laugh...we're in business!!
Post race
Warm down:

Grabbed a bagel and walked the mile back to the hotel. I was gonna get a shower, pack up and head back to see BDK and Trix finish. Before I got bundled up to head back out, they were coming in. Trix with a glove on her foot and shoe in hand.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Laughin?

Event comments:
