Pre-race routine:

The best prerace routine was finding this site and reading through what to expect, how to handle transitions, what to bring, etc. Got up at 5:30 ate oatmeal and a peach. Got in the car and left. Glad I packed everything the night before because I did not set the alarm right for the 5:00am wake up time I wanted. "Racked" my bike, set up transition area, went to registration. Looked back at the bike and noticed it had been set up on its kickstand (yes my bike has a kickstand), registered and racked the bike better.
Event warmup:

Coveted all the light weight bikes. stretched, swam some.
Swim
  • 00m
  • 219 yards
  • / 100 yards
Comments:

I am a one side breather. My daughter wants me to start training for every other stroke. I can go about 50 doing it but then I get panicky about my breath. I will keep trying.
What would you do differently?:

Felt good about my swim
Transition 1
  • 02m
Comments:

Things went smoothly to me. Just put on socks, shoes, helmet & shades. I guess I trotted through T1 not a walk but not a run.
Bike
  • 56h 00m
  • 10 miles
  • 0.18 mile/hr
Comments:

Bike chain fell off right when I started, will make sure the gears are set right before I rack the bike next time. Comment from one of the many people passing me, "this would be a lot easier on a lighter bike" Pretty sure she is right. I did see a big turtle crossing the road. I thought the symbolism was appropriate.
What would you do differently?:

Save my money for a bike.
Transition 2
  • 02m
Comments:

Finished (finally), walked the bike to the rack because my legs were not ready to run. had water on the way in and out.
Run
  • 24h 00m
  • 2 miles
  • 12h 00m  min/mile
Comments:

When I got off the bike my legs said, "You cannot run, You cannot run," but I did it anyway and ran (jogged really) the whole course. I felt great about that!
What would you do differently?:

Just need more time training for runs. I have never run much.
Post race
Warm down:

Went to the bathroom, had some water.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I just need more training

Event comments:

I had fun. My daughter called me a bad ass. It just doesn't get any better than that!

I don't have any equipment yet to measure these intervals. Since this should be my best leg based on training, I hope I was under 6:30. The swimmers started every 20 seconds and I was able to pass the guy in front of me.

The time is extrapolated from the 20 second swim start intrevals and the time I saw on the finish line on my last lap.

Course: Mainly a road course 5 laps some rough areas. Got passed a lot in the no passing zone. I was glad they were able to because I am so slow. The biggest hill had a sharp turn right before it. I found that challenging.
