First lap of the swim I was at 29 min, but the 2nd lap included the run around the dock and an extra 100 yds, so I knew I would fall off a little.

It was POURING the whole time. My Ergomo didn't work for shit. Don't know if it was the rain, but I had NOTHING to go on but feel. I didn't even have time or pace for a lot of the ride.

I could put all of my lap splits, but I wont bore you - the bottom line is I went out at a pace I could handle giving myself a little room to slip on the 2nd half and still break 4 hours.
2 laps of an out and back - starting out with a STEEP downhill, small climb, a short flat then another steep down. Then a nice 4 mile rolling section to the turn. Of course you know that means that there were 2 nasty f-ing climbs on the return trip!
