Pre-race routine:

I was at my mom's in West Branch. We got up around 5. I had some peanut butter and toast and a yogurt. Then we drove to Tawas. We took Ellie with us. She did really good.

Comments:

It was hard for me to catch my breath and get into a good rhythm. I keep going off course and had to straighten out. I even touched the ground every now and then. I took my wet suit off in the water. Not sure if that saved me any time, since I had to sit down in the water to do it.

Practice open water swimming.

I felt good on the run. I did think about stopping a couple of times, but kept going. I think the rain helped me to keep running.

This was a very nice race. I enjoyed it. It was my best one this year!
