Pre-race routine:

Jogged approx 1/2 mile around transition area to get the heart rate up to about 110, kept the fluids up with a my favorite orange gatorade.
Event warmup:

Got down to the water, (not as cold as I thought) about 15 minutes before the start, swam until I got my heart rate up to 125. Body was feeling warm in the water, not frigid.
Swim
  • 34m 42s
  • 1500 yards
  • 02m 19s / 100 yards
Comments:

Great drafting on the course, gave me chance to really feel what drafting is like.
Kelp was tough, but was managable, navigated well through it, swam around as much a possible, because I found my swimming was better that way then swium over it. I did swim over some of it, when it was required.
What would you do differently?:

Train more for the swim, I have gotten lazy with it lately. The alst few races I have been working so much on run the other have hurt. Still 2 min faster than 03 though.
Transition 1
  • 01m 54s
Comments:

I guess I have gotten to the point during transitions that I don't really know what I am doing anymore, I just do it. But I alwasys get it right now. I don't focus on it, which doesn't slow me down.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Bike
  • 1h 17m 59s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 19.12 mile/hr
Comments:

Great ride, if only I had more sugar and salt in my body, on the start of lap 3, right leg really started cramping, not sure how bad it hit me, but I was able to keep pace, but not a faster second half split :(
What would you do differently?:

Nutrition on ride, used out of date gel, don't do that
Transition 2
  • 02m 8s
Comments:

OK, TRICAL, get the idiot out of the middle of the dismount. I understand that people don't know they need to get off there bikes, but I nearly took out the guy in the middle of it all. GET THE HELL OUT OF MY WAY. I know how to do transitions. He made me think I was breaking some USAT rule. Jack A$$
What would you do differently?:

Hit the guy
Run
  • 56m 13s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 09m 03s  min/mile
Comments:

I need to cut more weight to get this up, I can tell by the end that the pounding is taking a toll. But other than that, great pace, no walking, kept the heart in the right zone. Felt pretty good throughout.
What would you do differently?:

Loss Weight
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around and walk up the street to get breakfast. Love french toast after a race.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Weight, maybe I should eat french toast, screw it I burned 3200 calories, but 10 am.

Event comments:

Other than the idiot at the dismount, another great trical event.
