Total Time = 1h 45m 6s
Overall Rank = 189/364
Age Group = 30-34
Age Group Rank = 29/38
Pre-race routine:

Woke up way to early, enjoyed a Hazelnut Latte and Egg,Bacon,Muffin on the way to the race.
Event warmup:

Swam 10-15 minutes before the start of my wave to get used to the cold water.
Swim
  • 15m 7s
  • 880 yards
  • 01m 43s / 100 yards
Comments:

Good swim, over all felt calm.
What would you do differently?:

Need to work on bi-lateral breathing when racing, helps balance out my stroke. I was pulling way too much with the right and not enough with the left, my right arm/shoulder became pretty tired.
Transition 1
  • 02m 57s
Comments:

Long run up the beach/hill to the transition area.
What would you do differently?:

Make sure the bike is in an easier gear to take off, foolishly left in a harder gear from the last ride.
Bike
  • 43m 56s
  • 13.28 miles
  • 18.14 mile/hr
Comments:

Spent most of the first loop in the small ring, most of the second loop in the big ring.
What would you do differently?:

Warm-up on the bike much more then none, took approximately 5-6 miles to get the legs going. Need to ride more in general, but really need to focus more on hills.
Transition 2
  • 01m 4s
Comments:

Good transition, felt slower then it was so no complaints.
What would you do differently?:

Maybe try taking shoes off before the transition and non-tying laces.
Run
  • 41m 27s
  • 4 miles
  • 10m 22s  min/mile
Comments:

Wow Dead Legs for the first 2-2.5 miles, they just did not want to get going. Finally started to get into the rhythm towards the end of the run where they felt good.
What would you do differently?:

Practice the Bike to Run Bricks much more then the zero I've done this year.
Post race
Warm down:

walked a bit, drank some water, ate some fruit and stretched

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not enough time on the bike, no bricks, no training in the hills.

Event comments:

Fun race, good distance, would do it again.
