Pre-race routine:

Breakfast of pnut butter bagel and banana. Set up transition and reviewed T1 and T2. Helped Jordan and his relay team get set up and ready. Helped Ann B get ready for her first tri.
Event warmup:

Said hello to Verga and his wife.
Swim
  • 06m 50s
  • 300 meters
  • 02m 17s / 100 meters
Comments:

Worst swim ever. Not sure what happened, Felt fine and thought I was going faster. Only able to swim twice (30 min each) in the last month.
What would you do differently?:

Swim more, get coaching.
Transition 1
  • 01m
Comments:

My T1 was 6th best overall. I don't think it could have been any better.
What would you do differently?:

By tri shoes and attach to bike pedals.
Bike
  • 38m 5s
  • 12.43 miles
  • 19.58 mile/hr
Comments:

A little slower than last year but not where I would like it. I should have been over 20mph.
Transition 2
  • 01m 55s
Comments:

Good T2.129 of 478.I broke the buckle of my race belt somehow and didn't notice until I was running out of T2. Fumbling around with it might have cost me a few seconds. Finally tucked it into my shorts.
Run
  • 25m 21s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 08m 09s  min/mile
Comments:

Felt great on the first half but got a cramp right after the halfway point. It definitely slowed me down during the 2nd half of the run. I should have been closer to 25 minutes flat.
What would you do differently?:

don't know.
Post race
Warm down:

Eat and stretch. Talked with Karen and the boys who cheered me down the finish chute. (more cowbell!) Cheered for Ann and Jordan's relay team.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My trip to the emergency room and resulting colonoscopy tapered my training off 2 weeks too early. Lack of swimming and biking hurt also.

Event comments:

3rd time racing this race. This is a great race for first-timers and experienced athletes looking for a PR. Great way to start the season.
