Pre-race routine:

Stretched a bit. Check bag again!! Get a cup of coffee at the hotel's contientel breakfast. To nervous to eat anything. Breathe and keep CALM....
Event warmup:

Set up transition area. Not too crowded, which is nice!! Had a bit of trouble sliding on the wetsuit, because by then I was HOT and sweaty!! As I was trying to pull it up, I put a gouge in it! #*&$!! Oh well! Got it on finally and headed out for the swim!!
Swim
  • 12m 23s
  • 500 meters
  • 02m 29s / 100 meters
Comments:

This was a short swim for me(compared to my last tri). Couldn't believe it when I hit the last buoy!! Remebered to swim till I touched the bottom this time! Makes it a lot easier to stand up!
What would you do differently?:

Swim a little faster!
Transition 1
  • 02m 52s
Comments:

Still a bit SLOW on this transition. I always feel like celebrating after the swim!!
What would you do differently?:

Get a move on it FASTER!!!
Bike
  • 49m 33s
  • 12.43 miles
  • 15.05 mile/hr
Comments:

A hilly, but beautiful course!! Very fast downhill.
What would you do differently?:

Ride more HILLS!!
Transition 2
  • 02m 52s
Comments:

Just as I thought, I ran into the wrong row. When I finally located my bike, the rest of the transition went pretty smooth!
What would you do differently?:

Locate the bike faster. Need to practice riding on the top of my shoes and dismounting without falling over.
Run
  • 40m 12s
  • 3.73 miles
  • 10m 47s  min/mile
Comments:

I didn't realize this was a 6K course. Now I am not so bummed out about my longer running time. Lost a little time trying to figure out where to go at a point along the way...no marker!! Other than that, I ran mostly and walked only after the water stops!! Now I know why that last mile seemed so long!!!
What would you do differently?:

Start doing speedwork!
Post race
Warm down:

Walked for about 10" afterwards then stretched on the green GRASS!! Got some orangesand a bagel. Got sprayed with Kool n Fit....GREAT stuff! Then headed off to the beer garden!! This is what triathlons are all about!!!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Although it was cool, the humidity was really high. Guess I am not used to it anymore!

Event comments:

A well organized race! Good one for beginners. Lots of post-race food and goodies. A great get-away for us desert-dwellers!! Next year it's the International distance!! I'm pumped!!
