Pre-race routine:

Oatmeal breakfast with peanutbutter and raisins. pack the car the night before I had to get up early.
Event warmup:

Stretching, lake swim warmup about 200m. needed to do more.

jumped out the lead pack and held draft the entire swim. felt great. There was a heavy fog so navigation was difficult but we did pretty good. bouys could not be seen more than 40yds away.

nothing. this was my best swim.

Had a good transition. run up hill to tranistion but I picked a good spot that was easy to get to and out of transition.

Took a bit to settle in. Needed to pick up to race pace a little faster. I got caught about 2 miles out that got me going, held the pace with them from there.

settle in and get to race pace.

unbelieveable for me. I went in for 4 guys and got a 150yd jump on the run due to transition.

Legs felt like I could not get them to turn over. Had the breath but could not get the pace going. that is what I felt.
Really it was my fastest tri 5k.
