Overall Rank = 614/2814
Age Group = M 45-49
Age Group Rank = 79/284
Pre-race routine:

Had a peanut butter sandwich, along with a bottle of gatorade, and a pack of Cytomax gummies.
Event warmup:

No real warmup. Got the tires pumped in transition, fluids on the bike, and in bags, and walked to swim start.
Swim
  • 1h 06m 23s
  • 4224 yards
  • 10s / 100 yards
Comments:

Good swim for me. Glad I chose the wetsuit. Water temp was close enough to make it worthwhile. Also liked having it on when I caught up with the non-wetsuit swimmers.
Transition 1
  • 07m 46s
Comments:

Took plenty of time changing into dry clothes. Didn't matter much as everything would have dried in the heat anyway.
What would you do differently?:

Gone faster
Bike
  • 5h 56m 14s
  • 112 miles
  • 18.86 mile/hr
Comments:

Hot, hot, hot. Really started feeling the effects of the heat, and wind at about mile 90. Until that point, things had gone perfectly. Struggled the last 20 miles with some knee pain. Caused me to have to pedal with really only one leg.
Transition 2
  • 11m 8s
Comments:

Again, took my time. Figured I would cool off a little in the tent. Didn't happen. The tent was like a stinky, sweaty locker room. I actually felt sorry for the volunteers who drew that short straw.
What would you do differently?:

Gotten out of the frying pan and into the fire faster.
Run
  • 5h 15m 36s
  • 26.2 miles
  • 04m 59s  min/mile
Comments:

Holy carp was it hot! I honestly didn't know I could feel that hot. Luckily for me, my inability to run prevented me from overheating even more. By the 3rd lap, runners were far outnumbered by zombie walkers, so I was in good company. The last mile never felt so good.
Post race
Warm down:

What warm down? Walking was about all I could do after that death march. Got water, a cold towel, and a finisher's pic.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The heat, and....the heat.

Event comments:

Amazing volunteers. They really made the race enjoyable, even with the extreme conditions.
