Comments:

great swim for me. I started in a good spot to avoid traffic and got out fast. cleared some swimming area and headed straight to the bouy. only contact was my team mate i ended up drafting for about 75 yds. perfect navigation and held a consistant pace.
What would you do differently?:

nothing. best open water swim to date.
Transition 1
  • 00m 49s
Comments:

good smooth transition. I passed a few people here and quickly cleared the area. teammate was about 10 seconds ahead of me leaving transition.

Comments:

good bike for me. I held a good cadience. My legs did not feel 100% but result was good. now my leading into transition sucked. forgot to exit my shoes early and got into a crowd coming into T2. the guy in front of my hit his brakes early and hard and I had to brake and evade with one foot still in a shoe. This ended in my bike in the grass and 17 mph summersalt and ending on my feet with one shoe on. Realized quickly that I did not have a scrap and grabbed my bike and ran into transition. heard the guy behind me say "Holy ?&%$ that was awsome" the guy that caused the mess was unaware anything happened.
What would you do differently?:

Not crash!!!!!! get my feet out of my shoes a bit earlier.
Transition 2
  • 00m 46s
Comments:

well from above the dismount did not go a planned. exiting the bike was with a summersalt and lose of a shoe. rest of transition went well. I hope someone got a picture.
What would you do differently?:

again dont crash!!!!!
Run
  • 20m 42s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 06m 34s  min/mile
Comments:

I was a little pissed off to start the run from my own dismount, so I ran hard from the start. Blazed the first hill dropping 2 guys that were running with me. One was the guy that caused the bad dismount. held a good hard pace.
What would you do differently?:

try to run a bit faster but this was one of my fastest runs off the bike with hills.
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

crashing.

Event comments:

this race was unbelievable with the way it was put on. they actually had prizes for winners, and volunteers everywhere that knew what they were doing. course was challenging but new racers could manage.
