Event warmup:

Stretch
Swim
  • 28m 16s
  • 2112 yards
  • 01m 20s / 100 yards
Comments:

My left goggle flooded with water. I t made it a little tough but not that bad considering I still had good vision in my right eye.
What would you do differently?:

Find someone in my age group ahead of me to push me.
Transition 1
  • 08m 44s
Comments:

T1 is broken up into 2 parts due to lake water level. I walked the transition area to save energy.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing great plan, but for Olympic distance I will need to run the transition areas, have bike shoes rubber band in place, and jump on the bike.
Bike
  • 3h 26m 59s
  • 56 miles
  • 16.23 mile/hr
Comments:

Cramped up a little bit on both quads going up Nasty Grade.
What would you do differently?:

Train harder using more power i.e. intervals
Transition 2
  • 04m 16s
Comments:

Took my time to catch my breath and conserve energy. I walked the transition area.
What would you do differently?:

Eat a bar while changing and stick the gels in the pouch. The gels fell out of my pockets on my tri-top.
Run
  • 2h 19m 17s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 10m 38s  min/mile
Comments:

I had the volunteers splash me with water at every aide station. I splashed water in my mouth and got Gatorade every once in awhile. My water bottles only lasted about half way since I was taking a swig every 5 minutes.
What would you do differently?:

Maybe get a little bigger bottles.
Post race
Warm down:

Stretch, eat snacks, drink rehydrate, and cooled down in the shade.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I didn't train with enough power, I always trained aerobically.

Event comments:

Tough course, but must do at least once in your lifetime.
