Swim
Comments: Both my underarms chaffed shortly after the swim start. Probably due to the 1 hr wait from the WU to the start. OUCH. This was a sore subject for the remainder of the day. What would you do differently?: Stay toward the outside longer instead of crossing to make a tight turn buoy. Transition 1
Comments: Because I didi not swim with the Garmin GPS, T1 took longer than I wanted. Plus, the fact that my chaffed underarms needed care, I decided to take a little extra time and put on the body glide. Bike
Comments: Next time around, I would change my Zipp 808's for my Mavics. 80 mm dishes and 30 mph gusts, just don't mix. Transition 2
Comments: Overall, a good T2. As I was leaving, the dude next to me that had already exited transition, asked me to get him his Gels and H2O. I did. It did not have any adverse effect on my race. Run
Post race
Warm down: None What limited your ability to perform faster: Wind and chaffing under both arms for entire race. Lots and lots of Body glide and still pain throughout. Also a long 3 hour workout yesterday probably affected my legs as they were tired this morning. Captain Dirk did state this was a workout, not a race. Event comments: A bit pricey but not a bad experience in what can most closely resemble Escape from Alcatraz in Miami. The polynisian drum band and the Tiki Torches on Escape Island were pretty cool. So was the boat ride. Is it worth $130? Let's see how I feel tomorrow. Last updated: 2006-08-03 12:00 AM

Woke up at 3:30 AM and took a hot shwer to loosen up a bit as a result of yesterday's 3 hr ride/ run
Ferry boat dropped FC and I off approx 500 Yds from Escape Island before race so I guess this was a nice 500 yard WU swim at 6:20 AM in the black of the night.
