Total Time = 2h 31m 27s
Overall Rank = 50/450
Age Group = 55-59
Age Group Rank = 1/10
Pre-race routine:

went out to the race venue to check everything out and did my usual sw,bk,rn > just to chk the water/bike out/run to just run
Event warmup:

got everything setup > went to the water and did my usual swim slow, swim fast>get out of water>get in water>get out>always sight the buoys in and the layout
Swim
  • 29m 30s
  • 1500 meters
  • 01m 58s / 100 meters
Comments:

i could've swam a little faster but was feeling real comfortable in my task at hand
What would you do differently?:

nothing > maybe pusher a little harder
Transition 1
  • 01m 11s
Comments:

transition went really well > did not sprint hard to bike > the sw finish to bike was around 60yds > always a good t1
What would you do differently?:

nothing > i think my transitions are almost flawless
Bike
  • 1h 10m 16s
  • 26.1 miles
  • 22.29 mile/hr
Comments:

i think maybe i could've pushed a little harder on the bike > was not in a comfort zone but not pushing hard either
What would you do differently?:

ride a little harder
Transition 2
  • 00m 37s
Comments:

as always > my t2's are flawless > just in & out w/no wasted movement
What would you do differently?:

nothing
Run
  • 49m 44s
  • 10 kms
  • 04m 58s  min/km
Comments:

i was quite pleaed w/my run this time around > i didn't have to fight off my usual stitch issue > that was a real + > my splits were very even splits on the avg > after the 2nd mile i did start to shave off some sec's all the way to the finish
What would you do differently?:

run faster > always run faster > it's a process
Post race
Warm down:

just stretched and walked around > b/s'd w/everyone

What limited your ability to perform faster:

nothing really > i'm training for the IM and it's hard to work in the speed w/o's to increase your vo2/leg speed turnover, etc

Event comments:

Jack (Ironheard Race Prod) always puts on a quality event > he puts on mulitple events and they are all run the same way > precision, exact course distances, plenty of support
