Pre-race routine:

Was so nice staying at the hotel adjacent to the race, made it so easy and no stress. Got up about 5am, had a bit to eat and walked with Matt to the transition area.
Event warmup:

Easy stretch before the swim.
Swim
  • 15m 14s
  • 1094 yards
  • 01m 23s / 100 yards
Comments:

An excellent swim. I had a good start, was able to find a lane pretty quick and just had an easy stroke. I felt great, strong, and not really winded. Probably one of my best swims.
What would you do differently?:

Start more towards the front.
Transition 1
  • 02m 39s
Comments:

Took it easy here, not a fast transition. I walked a bit to the bike to get my breathing relaxed. I wanted to start the bike fresh and not all winded like usual.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Bike
  • 59m 6s
  • 18.64 miles
  • 18.92 mile/hr
Comments:

Not one of my better rides. My quads were really tight for most of the ride so I could not push it too much. Also I am pretty slow on the climbs so it felt like I was getting passed by everyone (and probably was).
What would you do differently?:

Need to get faster!!!!!!
Transition 2
  • 02m 54s
Comments:

Another slow transition. I sat and put some socks on before getting into my running shoes. Again I wanted to leave transition relaxed and not breathing hard.
Run
  • 1h 04m 30s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 10m 23s  min/mile
Comments:

What a crappy run, I really struggle with this part almost to the point of not enjoying the race. It is a real mental struggle seeing everyone - men, women, kids, old folk, fat folk - passing me like I was standing still. I really need help with my run, I just do not seem to be getting faster. I started off decently but faltered about mile 3 and had to walk a couple of times, besides the aid stations. Running sucks, simple as that.
What would you do differently?:

Need to learn how to run, this is getting so frustrating.
Post race
Warm down:

Easy walk, had some food and drink.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

RUNNING SUCKS!!!

Event comments:

If it was not for my good swim I would be severly disappointed with this race. I finished slower then last year, by almost 2 minutes. I think my reduced training is really affecting my performance, just so hard to get all my workouts in every day. Hopefully Pendleton in 3 weeks will be a better race for me.
