Swim
Comments: It was tough because I had no idea what to expect. I watched the first wave and saw how crazy everyone was so I decided to start in the back of my wave. When I started to swim hard I struggled to navigate around people. I kept having to slow down and look up because I didn't want to get kicked. What would you do differently?: I probably should have tried to stay to the outside more and navigate around people instead of just slow down. Transition 1
Comments: I could have gone faster throught this transition. I was a little suprised at how tough the swim was so I was just relieved to have that over with. Bike

Run
Comments: I was glad I happened to have my Ipod with me. I didn't even think about using it until the race announcer mentioned it. It helped me just enjoy the run and not think about my legs What would you do differently?: I probably could have ran faster. Post race
Warm down: Sat on the floor with fruit and sports drink. What limited your ability to perform faster: Conditioning and bike. I used my father in laws mountain bike. By my next race I plan on getting a good street bike. Event comments: It was fun to see all the different skill levels competing. Most of the participants were first timers. It felt great to cross the finish line. I am excited to begin training for my next one: an olympic length in Utah somewhere...that is the goal Last updated: 2008-07-18 12:00 AM

It was my first and though I was a bit nervous I wasn't up to doing any pre race excersices or anything. I registered, put my bike in the transition area, listened to the two race announcers talk about the event and I just tried to take everything in. I ate some yogurt and english muffin in the morning and had a glass of juice.
