  • Comments: Absolutely love this race. Glastonbury is one of my favorite towns in CT. Very scenic rolling hills, challenging and great post race festivities. Gotta love the finish shoot with tons of balloons, your name announced and the sweet sound of a live bagpiper. The Ten Penny Ale Shamrock Duathlon. Definitely recommended and one of my favorite events. Hartford Marathon Foundation always puts on fantastic events.

  • Comments: I have to say, this event seemed so organized. There were volunteers all over the place. Cops/volunteers at all intersections and turns, holding traffic etc. I don't think they could have done a better job. What was more impressive, was the talent of some of these triathletes/runners. I got passed by several men, women, old, young etc on the bike, all on Tri bikes. You guys/gals can fly!!! It was cool to see some of the high end Tri bikes some people have, and how seriously competitive they are. Very cool first experience for me. I am quite sure we finished 2nd in Team Relay. No hardware for that, but nice to get a 2nd (still waiting for official results, but pretty sure that's where we finished). The leading team's runner had the Age Group (30-34) National Champion for Du's, and a very serious rider. the rider was the only guy in transition spinning away on a trainer, for at least 60 minutes, before the race even started. Funny thing was, he was paying so much attention to

  • Comments: This is the third year in a row that I have done this race. Three years ago it was my first ever multisport event. The first year I was within a 1 minute of placing in my AG. Last year I was within 15 seconds placing in my AG! This year I aged up (although I hadn't realized it as my BD is in August) and I finally got some hardware. I took first in my AG as the number one in the AG took first female overall. Very satisfying day for me! 2008 1:49:32 2007 1:56:19 2006 2:06:03

  • Comments: I love this race and it was a great way to kick off the season. I had pretty low expectations coming into this race so to finish about 3.5m off of last year when I was in much better shape is pretty satisfying. Hopefully work will slow down and I can use this race to kind of kick things up the rest of this year.

  • Comments: I've said it before and I'll say it again. Hartford Marathon always puts on a good event. With all they are up against in trying to find volunteers and keep everybody safe, they do a great job!

  • Comments: I might do this race again. Was a very good race, was very happy with how it went. They could use a few more volunteers though, but I know first hand how hard that can be. Police did a great job, level of competition was good. I think the turnout was about 275 I think they announced.
