  • Comments: This is now my third High Five event this year. They do a good job. The footing on the trail run is not ideal. They really should think about a route change with better footing. We got burlap bags for our SWAG stuff. I'm not sure what that was about or how the bit is connected to this race. Different for sure.

  • Comments: Another great race by the High Five event folks. The weather wasn't too hot and there was a little shade on the run course...thank goodness. Great race and a good test to see how my training is doing after my honeymoon. Texas Tri Series is half way done.

  • Comments: Fun race with the team. All splits are from my Garmin 910XT since my chip came off in the water. The official put my final race time as 1:07:55 but they must have written it down wrong because my Garmin said 1:07:37. Not a horrible race considering I really haven't done any speed work. Another race next weekend but I'll put in a little more volume this week and then get in as much as I can between remainder of the race season.

  • Comments: Great race and eventhough I got my feet poked I had a great time. It was really cool to race with my dad and to have my family there. Especially since we made the podium. :)

  • Comments: Once again the team at J&A's put on a great race. Would have been nice to have been able to see the Team results beyond the first 7 places. But, understand the time constraints trying to get to the awards. Next year my team moves up to the M Friends 80-99 age group. Our goal is to drop another 18-20 minutes like we did this year and finish in top 5 of our division.

  • Comments: It was a great race. Other than pushing it off to fast at the start of the swim and some poor sighting, I was very happy with my performance. I enjoy the course and they had a great post race party, which can make or break a race.

  • Comments: My first race with my own ChampionChip and have had some trouble getting my results (didn't have the chip when I registered). This was a fun race and is my only coed race this year - will take a little getting used to - not in a bad way. Glad the rest are women only for my first season though.

  • Comments: This was a fun race and it was good to see so many couples out. I tried to get my wife out but she just hasn't been able to train as much as she'd like. She'll do it with me next year.

  • Comments: I knew coming into this race that I was not prepared to "race-it". However, I was really looking forward to doing this race with Kari (wife). She was even less prepared than I was and I was concerned that she would not have fun, especially with the course being tough. The good news is that she has done this course 3-4 times (Austin Danskin) and she knows the course. I can't describe how much fun I had from the early wake-up and race prep to the final steps as we crossed the finish line together holding hands and arms up like we won the Olympics. It was really fun to be out there with her. Thanks to the grandparents for coming in to watch the kids as we got to spend some valuable time together doing something that we both love but have not had time to do together.

  • Comments: Overall a pretty good race. Am a little freaked out about it because I signed up for the Longhorn Olympic, and it is the same course, but twice the distance....The swim took alot out of me and so did the run...Hopefully I can make it work in a little over two months.
