  • Comments: The race course itself would be average but this particular race was crazy due to the weather. Just listen to the pro's on youtube talking about how tough it was. There were about 800 DNS and DNF.

  • Comments: The rain messed the race up and even Ironman can't control that. I truly earned being an IRONMAN on this one. I was wet from 6:00 until 11:00 PM. The rain made the course grueling. This was the hardest race I have ever done! I love this sport and I love being an Ironman, I would not change a thing.

  • Comments: Louisville has the best finish, hands down. I forgot how great it is (did as my first back in 2010), the hands banging on the finish chute, everyone cheering, and those lights....awesome awesome finish! Fun town, some great places to eat and grab a beer. Overall great venue for a race.

  • Comments: The volunteers and specators in Louisville were very supportive. I have never seen so meny police -- every intersection on the run and most intersections on the bike were traffic controlled. Louisville put out an A+ effort for this event!

  • Comments: Great Race! Probably one of the best finishes. IM has no control over the weather and the wind and rain at the end of the bike was brutal. Overall a good race venue, a worthy venue.

  • Comments: The weather made the day tricky and even more memorable, but nobody can control that. The race was fantastic. It's a great city with great support from the community. The venue is awesome and the volunteers are spectacular. I would definitely consider doing this race again.

  • Comments: If you don't train on hills, this course will eat you up. There were several people who overcooked the bike and paid for it on the run. I kept a good steady pace and completed the race with no issues.

  • Comments: I think the city really embraces the race and it's a good venue. Ride hills of you sign up. I realize that hills are relative but when I say I have no hills to train on I really mean it. The swim is nice and the water is actually pretty clean. Maybe in a few years after I get over this most recent surgery

  • Comments: This is my third Ironman and probably my favorite thus far. The swim venue was unique and fun and fast. The bike course is fair with lots of rollers. If they can solve the traffic problem it's perfect. The run course is a bit boring but it's flat and shaded and the crowd support is amazing. I loved the finish line and its atmosphere! I'd like to go back and try to crush this race!

  • Comments: This race was a great experience. The course was challenging but not too difficult, especially with a flat run course and near perfect weather. There was no shortage of volunteers from my perspective. I'm really thankful that the city of Louisville is able to support and accommodate such an event.

  • Comments: Sunday, October 9th was an absolutely perfect day. Of course things didn’t go as planned, but I was able to adapt and execute the race plan that Scott and I had put together. As he so wisely told me, Ironman is about executing a race based on the fitness you have on that day and not slowing down. I did a great job of staying inside my box and only worrying about the present and the things I could control. When problems popped up, as they always do, I dealt with them and moved forward as best I could. I had a near perfect bike ride which allowed me to execute a near perfect run… I mean come on, how many people negative split their first Ironman marathon? I would be willing to bet not many. The weather and volunteers were both amazing and Louisville was a nice place to hang out. I was without a car for most of the time I was there but never felt like I needed it as you can walk pretty much everywhere you want to go. Be sure to hit up the Louisville Slugger museum before you leave

  • Comments: I loved this race. I would do it again (with a lot more hill training, I just didn't understand what rolling hills meant, my bad). I was happy with my performance. My fluid and food intake were spot on, I am very happy with both. Ironman puts on a great race and the volunteers were the best.

  • Comments: The food tent was empty of options by the time I got there. The volunteers at every level were cheerful, helpful, and encouraging. I loved the number of people throughout the course cheering on the athletes.

  • Comments: First Ironman organized race I've competed in. I have to say it was very well organized. They really pushed through the 3k athletes very well. Even though there were lines at every stage of the process the lines went very fast. Very pleased with the amount and frequency of aid stations. Anything I needed they had, I planned to live off the course and had to issues with that.

  • Comments: This is a great race. The location is good, the swim is easy, the bike is on a challenging but beautiful course, and the run is pancake flat. There are plenty of volunteers, and it is well run. The new October race date also provided us with ideal weather for an IM race. The only complaint I have is the lack of port-a-potties along the swim start line.

  • Comments: This was my second 140 and first Ironman branded race. Before race rad I was put off by what seemed like exorbitant pricing. During the race it became evident that IM spends more on the venue then others at least for the full. When I'm ready for another full I would do an IM without hesitation based on the Louisville 2015 experience. Hopefully the new owner will maintain continuity.

  • Comments: So I'm glad that this race was moved to October as the weather was beautiful for a race! However, I think the swim start was very chaotic and stressful trying to get all your stuff on and organized with a line that just took off. Lots of people struggled to get on their wetsuits and I saw people forgetting goggles and swim caps. Otherwise, the swim was really nice and the volunteers throughout the day were just awesome! The bike course is extremely tough, and the unusual headwind made it even tougher. There are really only two complaints that I have about the course. 1.) It was very lonely for the most part with only a couple of sections that had a lot of people. 2.) The extra out and back that they put in was awful! It had two monster climbs that you had to do and because bike traffic was going both directions, you would often get stuck on the climb behind slower people that just killed your momentum. That section was apparently new this year and was just brutal. Despite the
