  • Comments: Great race and awesome volunteers. The people of Louisville were great and supportive. Happy with race but not happy with my run performance so I signed up for B2B this year. I plan on not making the same mistakes.

  • Comments: This race was a great race overall. The race was very well supported and the volunteers were great. Everything was on time and very well organized. I was able to quickly check in and get my packet without issue. A great part of the race are the spectators. They were cheering athletes on all along the bike and run, more so on the run but it definitely makes a difference. If you're thinking about doing this race I would highly recommend staying at the Galt House hotel, which is where I stayed. It's the host hotel and was fairly nice. The reason I recommend it is because packet pickup and Ironman village is inside the hotel. There's also restaurants inside the hotel that serve buffet breakfast (not free) that's pretty descent. Anyways, the location is close to transition and made it much easier to get everything done easily, especially with my family (pregnant wife, 2 & 10 year olds) in tow.

  • Comments: All of the volunteers were amazing. Probably the best at any race i have done. The people in the city of Louisville are very polite and friendly. If i were to come back i would stay at the Galt or Hyatt down town.

  • Comments: Observations: nobody was in the ART room. every time I went it, I went straight to a table. It was great, and 1 of the 3 was outstanding - shout out to Andrew Baer, chiro and ART guy in the Louisville area. He is outstanding and worth every dime you pay him. I won the lottery and could do this full time, I would pay to have this guy on a regular basis. The massage people were also outstanding. ..they even did some taping as an added bonus. It is interesting to me how every IM has different rules on little things. Having done 2 IMs before this one, and volunteering at 3- Arizona, LP, TX, FL, and WI, I was expecting that there was a policy to try to get your special needs bags back to you. Not at Louisville. There policy is you absolutely will get nothing back you put in your special needs bags as we don't even try, once you pass through special needs, they throw the bag in a dumpster that they then give to some company that digs through 'garbage' to resell what they can.
