  • Comments: The people of Taupo are amazing. Obviously the thousands of volunteers are wonderful, but to have random locals, sitting on deck chairs, in the cold at midnight supporting the last few runners is amazing. The organizers rescheduling an Ironman by 3 weeks following our latest covid lockdown is a spectacular feat of race management. We were lucky to be there, and owe everyone thanks. Race wise, I like the changes to the course since 2017, and hope they stick around post covid. 8 times past the family rather than 6 on the run can only help.

  • Comments: This program is amazing. It concentrates on your ability to move forward over time, rather than dwell on speed and or metrics unless you want that. Even with my injury I knew I would have an amazing day. It truly was. a great outcome. I had so much confidence I could crack this after working through the program. My friends and Family were surprised I did what I set out to do.

  • Comments: This is an excellent race and the weather on the day was perfect (this doesn't usually happen here). The volunteers were really good, the local supporters very enthusiastic and the organisation top notch. Would love to go back next year.

  • Comments: Leading up to the event I was a bit critical of the organisers - there seemed to be a lot of information missing or not available that as a first timer I felt was really important to planning my race strategy, as well as general preparation and logistics of the event. I still think there is a real need for a first timer's guide, but overall the event organisation and execution was fantastic - like a well oiled machine. Taupo's support of the event was simply exceptional. Businesses were 100% behind it and genuinely interested. 2000 locals volunteered and did an amazing job with relatively little thanks. Locals who look like they have never exercised a day in their life were out there supporting us athletes like there was no tomorrow. The Prime Minister of NZ turned up to lend his support to the event and how important it is to New Zealand. Both of NZ's TV sports news organisations were broadcasting live from the event. Taupo truly is the events capital of NZ. This race is a must do

  • Comments: The most incredibly well organised 4 days of my life. 2000+ volunteers and a team of experts made this an incredible experience.

  • Comments: Great day, twice as good as i thought, utterly unbeleivable, great fantastic, it is the most inspirational and motivating event i have ever participated in and everyone was fantastic, the supporters, volunteers, crowd, my family and support, utterly unbelievable. Reviewing HR data, spent 7h 40'36" in Zone 1, 1h45'56" below Zone 1 and 59'07" above Zone 1. Zone 1 is HR of 150 to 165. so sounds good, most of the above 165 was on the bike and swim which is good.
