  • Comments: I give it a 4 instead of a 5 because the logistics are kind of a pain in the butt. You have to drop your bike off the night before, then because it is a point to point race, you have to take the shuttle (which does NOT run enough) back to the start or try to figure out another way to get back there. Would recommend just running back, actually. Good, tough course because of the bike. Pretty good post race activities with beer garden (which I unfortunately did not partake) and a band.

  • Comments: NEeded more buses to shuttle us back to the transition. Didn't like the way we had to walk to expo and drop off bikes day before, but it all seemed to work out. It really is a beautiful course with the San Diego bayfront and skyline as the back drop. We live in a beautiful area. I just posted the splits and am very pleased with my times. I may be in the MOP, but I'm damn happy about these times. If I'd of shortened up my transitions a bit I'd be a couple of places higher...no biggee.

  • Comments: I thought the race was very well organized. There were charter style buses to go back and forth from transition to the finish line, very nice buses so that was cool. Largest race for me yet, it was fun to be at a big one like that.

  • Comments: Overall, I want to say this was a well-organized race, but I can't. I felt the pre-race communication was awful, the packet pickup day was a mess, parking was ridiculous, and the fact that you had to shuttle from the finish line back to your gear at the transition area (with only two shuttles) was a pain. I understand the setup and it worked really well, but the logistics were not fun. Also, while there were lots of drink stations and volunteers, they were cruddy volunteers. Local high school kids that had to have been sophomores at the most, totally clueless and with not the greatest attitudes I've ever seen. All that said, I thought that the setup for the post race activities was fantastic, best I've yet experienced. The weather was gorgeous, the course was just challenging enough to make me want to work harder for next year, and I think this just might be my one Oly each year. Also, I liked that you got a tech T-shirt in your goodie back, but I would have preferred a finisher's

  • Comments: Missing the mile marker for mile five and six, other than that Koz does excellent work. Just one small complaint, the medal is not really a medal but a small pin, it doesn't look that they put much though into it, I mean you're putting a lot of work and effort in to it and at the end of the race and for many years to come that is the spark that lights wonderfull memories of the race, not much of spark huh.
