  • Comments: I love this race. This being my first HIM, I really had no idea what to expect. The logistics are complicated for the first timer, but everything was well thought out and executed. The race overall is a great race and would definitely do it again.

  • Comments: My much more positive race report is on my blog at http://doughboytoironman.wordpress.com with pictures. I think the important parts of the day were well covered: safety, course, hydration. But running out of finishers medals was a real let down for this total back of pack guy. Thanks to Daryn (qrkid) for the loaner.

  • Comments: This was my first Half Ironman, and goal was 6:30 or under. Felt really good about my time overall especially with the foot injury that really affected my run. Will do this race every year and plan on focusing on swim and run in off season.

  • Overall course based on my ability: Too easy

  • Comments: The race was first class all of they way. I just have a problem with someone being able to call themselves and ironman and not have any real swimming ability at all! There were literally people floating down the river on the swim and had plenty of time to make the cutoff. This would be the equivalent of me being able to do a full ironman and wear rollerblades on the run course with a 5% decline for the entire marathon. The volunteers, expo, aid stations, etc were very well run. I would not hesitate to recommend this race to anyone looking for an alternative to the Ironman brand race.

  • Comments: B2B was a fantastic race. Everything from packet pickup to race morning to the volunteers to the finish line was well organized and fun. I will definitely do this race again.

  • Comments: I REALLY wish that a sports drink other than HEED was available at the aid stations. HEED has to be the nastiest drink on the market. Also, Set-Up needs to make the chutes and area where the bags were hung-up in T2 twice as wide. Could not get around people who were walking. Overall, this is a fantastic event.

  • Comments: I've been to a few triathlons in the past 7 years and having attended this year's B2B can see why people love it. I've never seen so many polite and courteous volunteers before. People were out cheering you on in the middle of nowhere. They closed bridges down and not one person in their cars yelled or looked upset. Very nice event, so much so I'm considering doing the full out there next year.

  • Comments: Still love this race. A few of the changes they made this year were good (losing those bridges and havingt the finish downtown), but a few were not (that triangle was confusing and I know it messed a few people up on the run- I know a lady who runs, maybe 2hrs on a good day in a stand-alone race who is listed as having finished in 1:41...I don't think so). Other than that though, it is just a really cool area to have a race and Setup does a great job with the logistics. It was a fantastic weekend down in Wrightsville. Stayed at the Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort. It is right on the beach with pools and hot tubs and the kids ate for free in the restaurant, so it was pretty cheap too. Great to be able to sit in the room and watch the sun rise over the ocean with Luke on Sunday morning, and to look out over the sea. Played quite a bit with d00d's family- our kids and his his are roughly the same age and seemed to quite enjoy each other's company. Very nice atmosphere at the hotel too. While

  • Comments: I love this course for my ability and the time of year. Run course was modified this year but I am confident they will work the logistics out. My increase in volume this year I think paid off and course the support of my loving was instrumental in a good season and race.

  • Comments: Overall this was a great experience for my first 1/2IM. I could have gone harder on the bike and the run, but the goal was to cross the line with a smile on my face and I did just that.

  • Comments: Jeremy did a great job putting this race together. I have nothing to compare it to as this was my first half and only my third triathalon but I enjoyed it. I could tell that a huge amount of effort had been put into the race. All of the people no matter their role were friendly and extremely helpful. I liked the area and the course. The weather was a challenge but that is fine as the weather adds to the charm of the race. You never know what you are going to get. I hope that I will be able to do the whole next year. Thanks to all who helped make this race succesful.

  • Comments: Overall - I loved this race. The bike weather sucked, but everyone had to go thru it - just adds to the good battle stories! They did end up losing my T1 bag which I was not too happy about. I not only had the sticker on it but I also duct taped and put my name on the bag. So I was a bit annoyed when I got my bags and only 2 where there along w/ the the sticker for the 3rd. The bad did turn up the next day so all was fine. Im glad I put my name on my wetsuit b/c there were about 20 other suits just like mine w/ no names. Mad props to the volunteers - they were great. Especially on the run, they got me thru a few low points and have that push when I needed it. Props to Setup Events. Logistics for a race like this are a nightmare. I think overall they did a great job. Wish they would have had a few more transport ferries running. I need to thank my wife who also did the race. We did some training together but having 3 small kids, long runs/rides were tough to do together.
