  • Comments: I think this would be a great race for a first time marathon runner, with no time goals. Lots of large pace groups doing run/walk, lots of costumes, tons of drink stations and volunteers. Overall a good race if big races are your thing!

  • Comments: The entire Dopey Challenge experience was unreal. Finishing it upright and smiling made me quite happy. And after 50 miles of running, I was still able to go to the Magic Kingdom with my family the day of the marathon, as well as Downtown Disney for Dinner. Couldn't have had a better experience overall.

  • Comments: This is a really well run, destination event. A bit pricey and crowded, but it is what it is and you just have to go into it understanding that.

  • Comments: Really you can't beat this race for entertainment value. Disney does an amazing job considering the number of people that do this race. Only disappointment is post race food, although I wasn't really in the mood anyway. I would highly recommend this race to anyone.

  • Comments: It is hard to beat the Disney experience - given the family orientation, fun and activities during the weekend. This race was special, because I was so proud of my Wife for finishing the half marathon as her first race ever and beating her goal time by 19min. So we both set PRs and had a blast together. I think I am up for the Goofy Challenge next year....

  • Comments: A great race, tons of volunteer support, great medals. 23 water stations in 26 miles. Expo was a bit crowded and sold out of a lot of things quickly. Course congestion can get a little bad in parts so don't plan on making this a PR race, but it's an absolutely awesome experience.

  • Comments: Great event. This was my second. Like anything Disney, it was first class and organized. This is a great fun event. If I was to ever suggest an event to run a first marathon at, it would be this one.

  • Comments: I enjoyed this race a lot. My first marathon had to be with Mickey! Everything was well organized and met my expectations (except the weather). Even though we had 25,000 runners to start out with I was surprised to see how smoothly we started, ran, and finished. The Goofy Challenge has given me a new motovator. Either I'll hit it this year or wait for 2015 and it's 10th anniversary!

  • Comments: I still love Disney races, and they pulled out all the stops to make the 20th Anniversary Marathon special. My own condition took away from my experience; I plan to return again in 2015 for the 10th Goofy Challenge.

  • Comments: I chose this race for my first because I knew there would be lots of distractions on the course, and if things went south, I could just chill out and enjoy the characters. The race was well run and fun. I want to come back again some time and do the Goofy Challenge.

  • Comments: Another great event, and much less crowded than the half. For Goofy's Challenge, my combined time was 5:20:37, and I finished 231/5458, not too bad :)

  • Comments: I cannot say enough positive things about the organization of this race. Corral placement was perfect: we spent most of the race seeing the same people over and over at our pace. Lots of places where crowds were cheering (this destination marathon probably attracts a lot of first timers and their cheering sections) which brought a lot of energy. Water stations were plentiful (almost every mile) as were aid stations. The second half of the course had lots of food / candy stops as well. Tons of volunteer support. A little congested in some places, so unless you're starting in one of the early corrals, don't expect a PR, but if you're in it for fun, this is a perfect race to do.

  • Comments: I think this race is just unlike any others. No one should go to a Disney event with the mindset that they're going to race hard. There's just too many distractions and the race is more geared towards having fun. I'd actually consider doing the Goofy challenge now, since I don't think I'd go to this event trying to set a PR. Speaking of the Goofy challenge, I felt like too much emphasis was put on it, and it diminished the accomplishment of those who "just" did the marathon. I can't tell you how many times a Disney employee saw my shirt or medal and asked if I just did the marathon or if I did both races.

  • Comments: Course wasn't as crowded today. Disney does put on a great event and it was awesome to see so many runners in one place. It is an expensive weekend, but also fun. The super early start times kind of put a damper on post race festivities, but it is nice to be done so early.

  • Comments: The medals are amazing, volunteers are great. Surprised that there were fewer water stops for this than the half--they were spaced out farther. Nice that they had medical every few miles. Post-race food is terrible, they need to have something natural...who wants sugar snacks after living on that for the last 4 hours?!

  • Comments: I give this a 4 due to the large portions of the race that were in areas where supporters were not allowed to go. This made for some very boring stretches. However, running through the parks was amazing.
