  • Comments: The race was amazing. Running through Disney World’s parks was cool, but to be honest, I was so focused on running that I unfortunately didn’t take it all in (especially in the second half). I thought the various start groups was a great idea. With the various corrals, it wasn’t crowded at all during the earlier parts of the race. I had read that this course is pancake flat, but those man-made hills (bridges, overpasses, etc) were killer. I don’t plan to run another marathon for at least a few years, but I’d definitely consider returning to Disney.

  • Comments: Disney is first class all the way. One of the most well run races I've ever been involved in. This is saying alot considering there were 18,000 people! Highly recommended, especially for the first time marathoner like myself.

  • Comments: Besides having a lack of fluids the first 4-5 miles, the run was set of very well. Incredible experience and good times on the course, despite having felt like junk out there. Still, I can't complain about my time and results with the race. Overall a very good experience and looking forward to getting back down here to do this again sometime in the future.

  • Comments: This is an awesome race. I would recommend it to anyone. However, I think it's a better "fun" race than competitive race. Next time (and yes, there will be a next time), I think I'd like to run it with jowisc so that we can enjoy it together. As always, everything Disney does is first rate.

  • Comments: Leave it to Disney Parks to put on a class event. Every volunteer made you feel like one in a million. Every park is a show. Even having a bad race my pictures show me smiling. It was impossible not to. A truly great race that is serious if you need it and as fun as you would expect it. One of my favorite parts was the post race food tent that seemed to be staffed with all my grandparents - and their smiles and congratulations made me feel as if they really were.

  • Comments: Disney does everything well. Good course, great volunteers. Everything jsut flowed very efficiently. I would strongly recommend this race to others, espceially beginner marathoners. Everyone was so supportive, and there were a ton of walkers and team -in-training people.

  • Comments: I love the Goofy Challenge and will do it again next year, for the third year in a row. It may stink to get up at 3 AM, to stand outside for 2 hours before the race starts, to run so many miles on boring roads and through hot parking lots, but I still think Disney races are great. I love the fireworks in the beginning, I love the music and the theme parks and the crowds. I love running under the Sphere in Epcot when it is still dark out. And I love them medals. This year they gave the Goofy Challenge people a shirt, which they haven't done in the past. They also improved the Goofy medal and it actually looks like Goofy now. The marathon medal this year was great, too. This was the 15th year for the Disney Marathon, so they had a special medal. I think it's the best medal I have ever gotten. I had a great weekend and am still on cloud nine!

  • Comments: Overall a good race, lots to look at and keep your mind off of running. Running with Team In Training was a huge help, it was an emotional day and the other TNT folks were a huge help out there.

  • Comments: Running into the parks and seeing the cast of characters was awesome! I got my picture taken with the Pirates of the caribean at one of the mile markers which was fun. Just the energy of the people running was awesome and definately got me through some tough times.

  • Comments: My friend D*** is my oldest-best-bud that I've stayed in touch with since 1982. We met right after boot camp and she is now a JAG officer. Anyhow, we did her first marathon together in 2001 (2002?) so I knew what to expect. I love D*** dearly but knew he wouldn't train properly. I showed up for OKC ready to run a 4 and a half hour marathon and she was not. I promised I'd stay with her and get her to the finish regardless of our time and that's what I did. WDW would be a repeat performance, albeit even slower. With more stress and family problems in her life than ever before, I knew when I signed up for this that we'd be even slower than OKC, hence my complete lack of caring about training. I knew I had enough aerobic fitness to get me to the finish line no matter how long it took. we had a pace chart and wrist band and pretty much just watched the cutoff time. Good thing too! Anyhow, the start was very cool with the fireworks and big video screen set up. We did a 3/1
