  • Comments: This really is a good race for beginners. It's not expensive. It's not overwhelming and "scary" like some venues can be. It's quite relaxed. The "downside" to those things are that it isn't super supported with volunteers or businesses, hit/miss on number of participants, and some of the safety "rules" people don't follow. Next year, please make sure there's enough food for ALL racers plus the volunteers, not just 250 of them.

  • Comments: First of all, let me say that this is a great race for new folks to the sport. It is short and fun. It's rad to see a lot of people there for their first tri or du and you can see their excitement. That being said, this race would be so much better if there was a closed transition area and USAT rules were in effect. For the newbies to go from this race to a USAT race would be difficult. Some of the easiest rules (ipod, help from others, closed transition area) were being broken left and right and it became frustrating sometimes to look like that bad guy asking people to get out of the way. All that to the side, it is a great grassroots tri. 20 years strong and I'll keep doing it for 20 years more.

  • Comments: Considering the course was altered and the weather conditions changed the bike portion drastically, I felt comparing this race to the last 2 were not a fair assessment of how much progress I have made since last year...Also, when resultds were 1st posted they had the 5 year increments in the age groups listed, then changed it to 10 year. It had me listed 3rd place out of 12 people in my age group(40-44). 5th out of 26th for 40-49 is what was posted today so, either way. I was happy with this race! Really had a great time!

  • Comments: Left early (work) and heard later that no results became available post-race. CEP Timing had computer issues, but I found results Monday afternoon on their site...

  • Comments: This race was a mess. On the up side it was a relaxed atmosphere and the scenery was nice. Still, the swim was a disaster. Lining up people by time isn't that difficult, nor is explaining to people if they can't swim to get out of the way. People on the bike course were riding ride by side on an open course with a fair amount of traffic (to say nothing of drafting). None of the volunteers had a clue what was going on (two were standing three feet from a pile of broken glass on the bike course). It's really hard to know what your race times were given they have the transitions rolled into them and the transition area wasn't very central. All and all, some people might find this a chill way to do a first tri, but I won't do it again.

  • Comments: Not CG Parks fault that CEP Timing had computer issues!!! No biggie! Definately felt this was my best race to date. Felt I pushed as hard as I could. Felt these last handful of races being as challenging as they were helped me with this race from an effort level. Shaved 6:22 off my total time from last year!

  • Comments: They have messed up something both times I did it. 1st year they couldn't do their math. This time they let a bunch of us run 1/2 mile too far. Great course, I hope they get it right next year.

  • Comments: The staggered start times screwed up their timing. They were unorganized with figuring out times after the 45 minutes of staggered starting. Everyone's watches were 30 seconds to 2 minutes off actual time.
