  • Comments: I really like this race. I am a bit disappointed that they messed up the timing, so I don't have a very accurate accounting of my race, but I still had a lot of fun. I hope they can straighten out the timing issues - I mean can they really think people ran 6+ minute 5ks? There was one woman who finished a place or 2 above where I think I finished who ran a 12+ minute 5 k. I don't think that is accurate :) She was 2d in the AG. Assuming that is an inaccurate time, she probably finished well out of 2d place. This doesn't affect my performance, but I like checking out times and seeing how I do or do not stack up. Once again, it was nice to do this race with 3 of my siblings. I really thought my sister Carol would beat me this time because - although she hadn't biked or swum more than 4 or 5 times in the last year (those times coming in the last month), she is a natural athlete and stays in shape in other ways. Plus she is a former swimmer, so she normally crushes my swim time even

  • Comments: I love Loggerhead and was disappointed I could not race it last year due to a bike crash 1 month prior. I spent 1 year waiting for this race and was very happy with the results. It's a hometown race with lots of people I know, so it has a special atmosphere, and who wouldn't want to swim in the warm clear ocean, bike 13 mile along the beach, and run along a palm tree lined street!!

  • Comments: A very competitive field for a sprint race. This area is think with triathletes, so the field was pretty stacked. My only complaint about the race was the wave order and the bike course. I must have passed 150 women and old people on a congested 4 length up and back bike course. Next year make the course one or two loops and let the faster people start first!

  • Comments: This was a nice race. I always enjoy swimming in the ocean, so anytime i can get an ocean swim and not a lake swim I'm happy. A1A was completely closed to traffic, so that was a real plus and not something that I've had in any other race (other then the ones at Disney). Once again, Peter beat me without doing any training other then the occasional run and while using a too small for him bike. If he ever prepared for one of these races he would vie for first place in his AG all the time. As it is, he usually comes in middle of the pact. Mark took second place in the fat tire division despite having a less then stellar race. Since he had dental surgery last night, I guess he is allowed a subpar performance. Of course, I only beat his time by 2 minutes; so I think he was outstanding :)

  • Comments: They need to change the bike course or limit the participants. There are simply too many riders out on the course during the bike. Drafting is nearly unavoidable.

  • Comments: They do a great job every year and kudos for the ice cold water at aid stations! Plenty of volunteers and they were great. Tried to stay around for awards, but they waited way too long. Don't think they got started until well after 10am. I respect waiting for last finsher, but that was around 9:30am, so can't explain the holdup. I don't think more than 30 people hung around to receive awards. That said, it was fun and I will always be back.

  • Comments: Great race, dreadful performance, as I expected. Trained 3 out of 18 days befroe and spent 5 in the hospital. I knew my stamina would be low, but didn't expect crazy heart rate. Had to shut it down on the run when i saw Cardenas was smoking my be 3 or 4 minutes at that point. I chalk it up as a mediocre training session at best. Next year i do it in under 1:09. 3rd place 185 Clydesdale. One of last races at this weight as I barely am over 185. 172 here I come.

  • Comments: In case the RD is reading this - start the race 15 minutes earlier and add 3 waves to the start. It would help to spread out the racers so that the swim/bike are not so crowded. Otherwise, well done.

  • Comments: Well-run race. It's my hometown showdown. I was absolutely happy with my overall performance even though I was slower on the bike. I didn't leave anything on the mat.

  • Comments: The raffle was terrible. The announcer said that the winning ticket would get a massage. Once the ticket was chosen, he announced that the winner would get all the prizes including the bike, massage, gift basket and gym membership. I thought it was a joke. I plan to complain. However, everything else about the race was great. Good job Jupiter Chamber of Commerce!
