  • Comments: This is a good race but it was hard for me. Not used to the bridge climbing and there were some long bridges. I need to work on that for next years race. The swim was good but very rocky going in and out of the water.

  • Comments: I thought it was great! Lots of volunteers, people cheering, good hard course. Only thing is you have an hour and a half where you just wait for them to set up the swim for the sprint course. transition closes at 7am and first wave is at 8:45am. But it went by pretty fast. Definitely will try to come back next year.

  • Comments: One big problem I have with this sprint version of this race is that it starts so late. If they are going to start it so late, they need to keep transition open longer for the sprint racers. I don't know why they couldn't section off the oly racers from the sprint and keep the sprint part open longer. Waiting around so long to race was not fun at all and will probably stop me from doing this race again. If they don't want to section the transition area, then they need to get 2 more buoys so they can mark the sprint course without having to wait for the oly racers to be out of the water. They could then start the sprint while the oly's are still in the water - there would just be some merging of the 2 distances. Other races do that, so I don't know why this race can't. Volunteers were great and there were a lot of cheering spectators which made the race seem like a big deal. Final note, when Mark was swimming he had to save some woman who was waving her arms trying to get one

  • Comments: I had set a goal time of 1:25:00 based on my target paces. (9:00/1:30/42:00/2:30/30:00) My actuals were (11:30/1:12/42:02/1:15/30:16). I had given my self plenty of time for T1 and T2 as a buffer. What I didnt account for on the swim was the current/distance difference vs last year. I felt great after the race and was better prepared for this race than any other so far. Overall I think it was a great race. I wanted to finish Top 10 and hit my goal but I was still pleased for the most part. The five guys in front of me were all within 47 seconds. I could have made that up with Zipp wheels, better bike setup and a sprint at the finish.
