  • Comments: Loved the race. Ocean swim was so glassy unlike last year (from what I saw I did not race it last year) only thing that would of been better is maybe an after race party...and finisher medals for everyone :) was a bit cheap on the race swag (shirt, no medal, no other goodies) but couldn't of asked for better weather and people! Will def do next year

  • Comments: Fun race in a unique locale. But geez did it feel like the field was stacked. Can't control that, though, and still had a great time. I'll be coming back (hopefully with a healthy family) next year.

  • Comments: Good race and well supported. Only one aid station on the run (maybe add one in TA), but it's AWESOME to swim in the Atlantic and the bike and run are super flat and super fast.

  • Comments: For my first open-water ocean race, I feel good about this one. 5 minutes slower than Annapolis, but the swim was almost twice as long and the bike was also longer, plus I had raced a running event the day before. It was a well-run event, pretty good for spectators at transition too. Weather was perfect. I would do it again!

  • Comments: Was dissapointed with this race. The organization did not seem up to par and was expecting more. No post race activities and the food was a banana and water. The bike course was not cleaned prior to the race and there was a dead fox in the middle of the bike lane. Also alot of sand and debris.

  • Comments: Event started 10 minutes late to give people a chance to walk to the start line. I was ok with that, and to be honest glad the swim didn't go the other direction where I'd have to run 1/2 mile in the sand with a wetsuit on back to transition.

  • Comments: I really enjoyed this race. Even tho it wasnt my first tri, it was my first sprint distance. The best feeling for me is knowing that i set a goal and did what i had to do to get there. The training was something i looked forward to and im proud of myself for going strong the whole time. My times are not the best compared to everyone else, but they are good for me and makes me want to train harder and get better. Thanks everyone for the encouragement!

  • Comments: This is one good race especially for beginners like me. If there was one flaw I saw it was the lack of lifeguards. There ought to be more out there. I think I spotted 3 on surf boards. There may have been more on shore. Anyway, I would recommend this to anyone who would like to experience a sprint triathlon with the swim segment in the ocean. It was very well organized and the individuals that ran it were friendly. Just finishing my first triathlon with my wife and 8 year old son was the best father's day ever! These two supported me all the way! They are the best part of this whole thing!!! I'd specially like to thank Steve "scamp72377" fellow BT member who was there to cheer us on and even took all of these great photos I am sharing here. Steve and I have not met but his presence there as a co-BT member was great! Thanks for the pictures Steve and hope I meet you soon!

  • Comments: First tri ever.... was happy just to finish it and complete the goal of finishing a triathlon. It kind of blew that Mandy and Ashley didnt make it to see my finish. Not enough sleep the night before. Ashley was up kicking both Mandy and I until after midnight. I did not have my stuff together / didnt really know what to do for my first triathlon, but thats ok as long as I improve on it for the next one.

  • Comments: Pretty good job for the inaugural year. The swim was managed perfectly. Maybe they could have numbered the bouys (I kind of forgot how many I had passed). The bike course needs to be improved a lot. The cones at the turns prevented any kind of overtaking. And the bike trail along 611 isn't really wide enough to support multiple bikes. They should really consider closing the road and cutting it down to one direction. The run was great, excellent support from vacationing campers as we ran through their camp ground. Post race was good. Sandwich was tasty and plenty of variety of drinks. (Didn't notice any fresh fruit, but didn't exactly look either) Overall, good race, it will get better, Im sure.

  • Comments: I loved this race!! There was a challenging swim, a nice flat bike course and a run course that ran through the Assateague camping site. There was a snack bar that was open early so friends/family could grab something to eat. The beach is beautiful. The course is spectator friendly. The run out was along a paved path where volunteers or the campers had written encouraging messages in chalk all the way down the first mile. The run was around the campground, which included ponies wandering around the course and at times, navigating around ponies.

  • Comments: This is my 5th Sprint to date, and by far the toughest. The swim was daunting. They called this Sprint "The Equalizer" of the Eastern Shore Tri series, and that it was. I was very disappointed since I ended up first in my age group (again, after they took out the overall winners who also were in my age group), but the awards were to be given two hours later in Ocean City to wrap up their "Beachfest" weekend. Since I still had to retrieve my dog and drive another 3 hours home, I opted not to stay. I had a friend pick up the medal, and he said very few people were there to get their award, probably for the same reason. I hope next year they choose to give out awards after the race. Though I loved saying I conquered the ocean (with some help), and had a pretty decent finish, I'll have to really think hard whether I'll do this one again next year. If I feel my swimming has improved, then I might go for it. For the first year though, this event was very well organized. The volunteers did
