  • Comments: This was my first tri family race in the 35-39 age group. It is a very competitive group but I am looking forwards to it. I did this same race last year also and my time was 1:07:20, so I am happy with my improvements.

  • Comments: This was my 1st tri and I think the sprint was challenging. It was well organized and managed. I would do it again.

  • Overall course based on my ability: Too easy

  • Comments: Tri family racing puts on great community races but suffers from a lack of punctuality. The adult sprint was supposed to start ~0715, but start was delayed until 0800. Additionally, with the serpentine start, the race would avoid congestion by starting people (and assigning numbers) based on HONEST swim times-- in other words, if they start with the fastest and move down the line to the slowest, the pool will be much less congested. In all, this is my third ever triathlon, and second with this organizer. I think they did a fantastic job--especially considering there was a youth tri, adult Sprint, and adult Olympic all in the same location.

  • Comments: This was a good race, if a bit crowded. I think the rain added some excitement, for sure. The hot pool is my only complaint. It was a really great way to start Turkey Day.

  • Comments: This race had the worst race shirt ever. They put a diver/BMX biker/Football player on the logo. WTH! I'm keeping the short just because it looks so bad! Otherwise a fun race. Short but fun :)

  • Comments: While these races can be chaotic and disoragnized its super fun racing a quick race Thanksgiving morning. My only goal is to go out and have fun and that was accomplished. Great to see Jerry and Kerri volunteering out there and Tanya, Sally and Chad racing. Sally totally rocked and won 1st overall for women! Only major negative: Worst Race Shirt Ever!

  • Comments: I believe that all you can ask for on a given race day is to perform at the best of your ability on that given day. In that respect, I had a near perfect race. I ran faster than I ever have. I biked as fast (and generally faster) than I trained, and I was more comfortable in the water than I have ever been i an event (it was a pool swim and not OWS, but still...). For the first time, I felt like I was racing, and not just participating. I kept telling myself, "you can't blow up in a sprint; you've trained - your body can take it, just let it go'. It was uplifting to meet Tom, Mike, Tanya, and Sally and have friends there. It is inspiring to see them placing at the top of their AGs. It was the first race where I was not alone on the course, and I was strengthened by that. (and, by the way, thanks to BT and the friends I have made here - it has made a huge difference in my development!) I look at where I was just seven months ago at my first race, and I can't believe how far I have

  • Comments: This was a fun race. Reverse tris are great because you start all together and always have people to compete with. I think I still prefer to do a tri in the correct order but this was fun too.

  • Comments: Great event. The Goodyear YMCA was beautiful!! It was a cold, but beautiful morning. I only wish they would let the Tri men go first..... Instead they had the Tri women, Duathletes and Relay people go first. Then let the Tri men go 5 min afterwards. They obviously caught up, and were not always nice when screaming LEFT!!! Whatever...with your woosh, woosh wheels and pointy hat. Don't you have a harder Tri to go do?

  • Comments: WOOOO HOOOO!! Can you believe it? I got 3rd in my age division!!!! Rib finally started to let me hear it after the race. I will ice it a lot to day, and start backing off the mega doses of Advil. Next race PHX New Times 10k??? Next Tri on Thanksgiving morning???? We'll see.

  • Comments: The course is very fast and therefore very satisfying. The backwards thing actually worked well for me since it let me get the running out of the way first, although it absolutely killed my swimming time. Ah well, that's 8 minutes out of an hour or more....Overall I am just plain pleased with myself!
