  • Comments: What a GREAT experience! I got my butt handed to me by some amazing women in my AG today! It was soooo cool to be racing with many of the top AG athletes in the country! The vibe was amazing, the course a big challenge and racing with my teammates is always a blast! I'm so glad to have had this experience, even if it was my slowest oly race ever! :) Hopefully next year in Vermont, I'll fair a little better! :)

  • Comments: Nationals is always a great show. Goody bag was not as good as in years past. Will probably not do this race again until I can either modify my expectations for myself or have the late-season motivation to train for it properly.

  • Comments: Horrible bike course. They needed to shut down both sides of the road and provide more space for the moto referrees and the large field. Very dangerous.

  • Comments: Well run and organized. Certainly a great "big race" experience for someone like me with limited exposure to these types of races. Run course was pretty bleak at times-no one spectating/cheering except in the area near the start/finish. Not the fault of USAT-its just nice to have some encouragement during the run-anything to distract from the pain. Fun to see so many top athletes compete. Really impressed with the fitness level of the "older" age 60 and up racers-inspiring.

  • Comments: Biggest issue was actually finding packet pickup. It was hidden somewhere on the University of Alabama campus :) Being a graduate of UGA, I wanted to spend as little time on the campus as possible, so trying to find it with no signs was slowly making my time on campus creep upwards. Finally found the building with Kevin's guidance and then was good from there forward. Fun race. Good course (except the river swim). Like the stuff I got for "free". Pint glasses, cool backpack, t-shirt, etc. Just wish they hadn't run out of mediums. I'm not exactly an XXL, which they had plenty of.

  • Comments: This was a great race. Due to the current, this was definitely a year that strong swimmers had an advantage. I didn't set any real major goals for this race as I didn't know what I was getting into. I did have a lot of fun though and it was a difficult challenge. With the swim current and the hills on the run, this is definitely a challenging course. If I qualify again next year and it works into my schedule, I'm sure I'll be back to seek revenge. Got lots of running to do in the mean time.

  • Comments: A lot of folks, including me, complained about the current ... but it is what it was: something completely out of the control of USAT. It is just another example of having to deal with what is thrown at you on race day. This was, by far, the toughest Olympic distance race I have done. Not being a swimmer by nature, it challenged me physically. Competing against a field that was by definition all 'Front of Packers' was more mentally difficult than I would have originally thought as I kept getting that 'I am out of place' feeling. In the end I was able to post a respectible time given the awesome coaching received by Dan at Endurance Concepts. Hats off to him for preparing me for what was a grueling day in what was supposed to be just a tune-up race for Augusta.

  • Comments: I can't really blame the race for my performance, there were lots of people that did well. I was just out of my league, but I knew that going in, so I am glad I went. We got really cool swag, and I learned that I need to work harder!

  • Comments: Not nearly as organized as other events. Having to check your bike in the day before was unnecessary, the venue was too cramped, no mile markers on the bike and run cources.
