  • Comments: The race was very well organized for its 2nd year. Three laps (in my opinion) is a good idea, so you get lots of spectator support. I had a blast and hope that I will do another IM race in the future.

  • Comments: Really well supported and organized. But what's that worth?? Here's my comment. You can do it. If you want to, and it means something to you, you can do it! Don't ever think you're not the type, or you're too heavy, or people are watching. I AM your poster child. 4/9/05, 280+ pounds to 4/9/06, 172 pounds and an Ironman!!! There is hope for all of us, even on the darkest of days... and I've had my share over the past 3 months, the past year and the past lifetime. But Hope has always made himself known to me.

  • Comments: This was the best organized race I have ever done (I guess Ironman races HAVE to be, though!). The fans and volunteers are enthusiastic right up until the end, which is something really unique. My only criticism is that the race officials made a huge deal about drafting before the race and then barely enforced the rules during the race. The people passing me on the bike were all in tight little pelotons, which I'm sure gave them a huge advantage. The penalty tents were always empty, so I conclude that drafting rules are just meant to scare beginners.

  • Comments: The volunteers were absolutely amazing. The run course aid stations were fantastic. I really loved the people at the Phoenix tri club station. They were so kind and supportive. The sorority girls in camoflauge were so cute. This was just an amazing experience, from the first day at the expo till the end. It is like being transported to your home planet for a week. Among your own kind. I cannot wait to do IMFL. I just cannot wait. I love this. I hated being so slow, but I will get better. Chippy reminded me that I was slow at my first sprint tri too and that got better, so this will too. I am hooked. This was a very important achievement for me. It came at a time of many changes in my life. It was a wonderful distraction and a great reminder that the most poweerful force in my life is myself and my own strength. I have never felt such a sense of pride and accomplishment. And the best part was doing it with my very good friends, who made the whole experience so much more delightful, meaningful,

  • Comments: Great Race. Well organized. A true Ironman experiance. Nice job Paul and Roch. Just a bit disappointed in the loud whooshing noise that was coming from my wallet. Excuse while I take a sip of coffee from my $95 commemorative mug.

  • Comments: As one would expect this was an extremely well organized and well thought out race. The volunteers were all wonderful and the aid stations were well stocked. The spectators and the participants were all great. I'm glad I finished. I can now say that I have done an Ironman. I'm not sure I ever want to do one again but at least I can say I have done one. Not that I have shown that I can finish the full distance I think it is time to consider concentrating on getting faster at the shorter distances and then possibly down the line try another one of these suckers to see what I can do.
