  • Comments: Rev3 Knoxville is a great race. I thought it was a little more "rushed" feeling this year than it has been in the past, but it was still leaps and bounds above most big races.

  • Comments: REV3 Knoxville is in the books and by all accounts it was a success. The family Glow Run Friday night was fun for all, the kids rocked the “Revvie” kids’ tri on Saturday morning, and the REV3 expo and dinner with pros on Saturday afternoon was first class all the way as was the main event on Sunday morning. There were three races contested simultaneously - an Olympic, a half, and a unique, one-time-only “championship” distance contest by professional triathletes and the top age-groupers from across the county who qualified based on their races last season. The good news for me (competing in the Oly) is that the top competitors were siphoned off for the championship event. The bad news is that there were still more than plenty gung-ho wanna-bes (like me) competing to qualify for next year’s AG championships. Let the race begin! Swim. The first leg was swum in the Tennessee River where the official temp at race time was 68-degrees making it wetsuit legal but not so cold that

  • Comments: While the conditions of the race were terrible, Rev3 did everything in their power to make it a good event. There was lots of support on the race course. They handed out mylar blankets at the finish to help racers warm up. They even had a couple of rooms at the hotel that you could go into and warm up after the race. A huge thank you to all of the Rev3 volunteers who were so supportive and stood in the rain all day so that we could race!

  • Comments: Loved the race. The course markings are awesome -- arrows on the pavement before, during, and after turns as well as signs. The volunteers were awesome. Will definitely race with Rev3 again!

  • Comments: As my first Rev3 race I have to say this was a very fun, well-run event and I am looking forward to our next one. It is too bad the weather turned out the way it did as a number of the fun family events that Rev3 is known for were cancelled, but the entire management and volunteers were awesome through-and-through. Even though we had to race in pretty crumby conditions, at least we could get in and out of the rain - the rev3 folks were in it all night and all day. It will have to be after IMLP, but we are already trying to figure out what our next one will be - since we all did fairly well in our respective divisions it would be fun to try and secure a spot in their AG championship race which will be in Knoxville next year. For those of you who have asked about her, here is a picture of our post-op kitty. Since her surgery she is starving all the time and for some reason she has decided that if she sits in her food bowl she might get fed a little faster. She is going to be in the

  • Comments: I am glad I did this race because I need to do a race just to see where I am at. The results have not been turned into USAT so i do not know if I qualified for AG nationals or not. Now I want to actually got to race the ride instead of fighting to keep the tires to the ground :)

  • Comments: Weather conditions were brutal. Alot of folks DNS or DNFed due to the weather and a few folks got a trip to the ER for Hypothermia including one of the folks I got help for. Had warmup room in the local hotel and great support on the course and finsih and transitions. Great job by the Rev 3 crew on a nasty day. Weather sucked but the race was great and I was pretty happy.

  • Comments: I wish the weather would have cooperated. The venue would be awesome. I love Knoxville and every part of the race is scenic and challenging. Before the race the MC (Steve). Was having electronic troubles so he moved underneath the roof by the bathrooms. He was great and kept everyone positive. Other Rev3 "bigwigs" walked around and Steve would point them out. They too would stop and talk with athletes which I thought was awesome. Steve played music and danced and joked around which helped me wait in the cold. I think everything would have been awesome, but I think we got about 3 inches of rain Saturday and Sunday which was a total buzzkill for extracurricular activities. Giving it a 3 but to be fair I had a blast and I could see all the friendly atmosphere that Rev3 puts out. Without the rain I bet everything would have been an easy 5

  • Comments: Race was great and organized very well. Volunteers were awesome throughout! I want to do this again! My nutrition: Swim: 1 tropical hammer gel 15-20 minutes before swim start with water Bike: Drank about 90% of 20oz water bottle and 75% of 20 oz perform bottle, took equivalent of 2.25 hammer gels. Gels taken at beginning of bike and sipped every 30 minutes from gel flask Run: water on the way out of transition. 2 total gels at aid stations 2 and 5, water most of the run with some Gatorade. Had to force the gels on the run, didn't want them.

  • Comments: Hard to separate out the race from the conditions. Swim walk to start and transition to bike were long, but I think they made the right calls. Just the nature of the set-up. Bike course would have been pretty nice on a good day. Probably the most climbing on a course I've done... which is actually kind of a nice change of pace. Thanks so much to the volunteers and police doing the traffic. It had to be awful to be out in that mess for hours. Since Karen was there, she even snapped a couple of pictures. Usually I'm solo, so 'tis a rarity to have a few snapshots.

  • Comments: This was a good race despite the rain and the cold. I think this would be so fun in better weather! I hope to maybe do this again next year! I know I complained a lot in this report, but that was mostly about mother nature. REV3 does an excellent job!

  • Comments: Rev3 couldn't help the weather, and I'm glad they didn't adjust the event. It was well-planned, had plenty of aid stations and volunteers, and they really tried their best to have a great race in pretty terrible conditions.

  • Comments: Great race weekend. The Urban Challenge and Little Rev Adventure races were a hit on Saturday and the Expo was very good. Great to get up close with the pros before and after the race, very cool people especially Matty Reed. The timeing system had a few kinks to work out and things were a bit funky post race but everything was good by the time I got home Monday. Great swag. Unique medal, Finished long sleeve tshirt, visor, power bar stuff, and everyone got a pair of Blue Seventy Element goggles. Sweet!

  • Comments: Very good race. Well organized and plenty of family activities. Will likely do more REV3 events. My only constructive feedback is get the timing splits correct quicker (they were originally messed up after the race) and put mile markers on the run.

  • Comments: The TNT experience was great. I would have ended up quite a bit higher if I hadn't stopped to help a couple people on the bike course. I knew I wasn't going to win anyway or even finish very fast. However, I knew i was going to finish and I figured the people I helped on the course were determined to finish too. Rev3 put on a great event and I would love to do another of their races.

  • Comments: The weather Sunday morning was near perfect for the triathlon The water was wet n the swim and the wetsuit was warm. There were a couple good climbs on the bike, but I also enjoyed cruising the downhills. The run was way more fun with Chad and Karen Hobelmann when I caught them at the turn-around. They kept me going and helped me reach my time goal. I couldn't have done it without them.

  • Comments: Was a great weekend. Trip home sucked, but wore the compression all the way home and feel pretty good, except for some tight calves. Passed lots of REV3 folks on the way back north, at least my bike wasn't out in the rain the entire way. Great MG meeting race. Ready for next year.

  • Comments: Rev 3 puts on a great race. It's not perfect but still a great race. I like a lot of the things they do. Looking forward to seeing all the video and pictures that the Rev3 folks took. This was also a SWBKRUN Mentor group meet up so that made it an even better race. Looking forward to the next one.
