  • Comments: I don't want to complain about the race being shorter. Call me crazy but I rather not die in an unsafe swim. I also can't complain about the shorter bike. I know the permits don't last forever. Although it wasn't a full 70.3, I'm glad I was able to get in what I did.

  • Comments: Great venue, great organization, great volunteers, terrible bike course. So close to being a 5 star, need to do it every year kind of race. Lots of parking and viewing spots for family. Recommend Steelhead instead for a very similar course and location.

  • Comments: Race volunteers were fabulous! Racine citizens were great. It was well organized. This was my first HIM! I was pleasantly surprised with the finish time! I originally targeted a 6 hour finish then adjust that to 6:30 after calf injuries. So, I was very happy with 5:42. I had a beast swim, solid bike, and fell apart on the run (as anticipated). Next HIM, I will get revenge!

  • Comments: I wanted a massage but it was about a 1/2 wait so I didn't get one. I just stretched out more. Great race, awesome Ironcrew and spectators, very fun. I was smiling all day, and my wife kept saying how impressed she was with how good my spirits were. A very fun race!

  • Comments: Overall, very nice race and I'll likely do it again. Awesome AWESOME volunteers - thank you for all you do! I liked this race a lot. Didn't LOVE it, but really liked it. The bike course is SO damn bumpy, but it is also fast. The exit from the swim to T1 is a little ridiculous, but that can't really be helped. I'm not a fan of two-loop courses for runs, but it is nice to see your support crew more than once and there is some shade. I was very surprised that they didn't bring over more items from the Civic Center to be sold post-race. WTC giving up an opportunity to sell more M-Dot merchandise?!? That's a first! At least I saved a solid $30 to $50 by them not doing so.

  • Comments: No bathrooms at swim start really sucked and was poor planing, imo. I didn't like that I had to start almost 80 minutes after the start of the race. Luckily I brought a lot of water otherwise I'd be starting thirsty before the race even started. Good support of town/volunteers. Was a nice flat course but the roads need to be addressed like most races but they spent 10+ minutes at the race meeting talking about all the bad spots. Overall I'm happy with race. I did Kansas 70.3 in 6:06 last year. That course was harder than this but knocking off almost an hour off my HIM time in a year is something I plan to brag about to friends :)

  • Comments: My first Ironman 70.3. Challenging bike course and cold water swim. I really liked it despite loosing a steam on the run. Very well organized, nice medal and running cap. Plenty of spectators, volunteers, add stations. I would recommend it for first timers as you can count on mental support on the way.

  • Comments: The Ironman Vilalge was 1.5 miles from T1. This made logistics of getting around to checkin bikes difficult. The bike road conditions were horrible. I am not a fan of point-point races and I don't understand why the swim needs to be one. I will do this race again, but not for a few years. Overall a good experience for my first 70.3.

  • Comments: There was not a lot of food/drink options after the race. I was very disappointed in that. I was a little fuzzy so I don't even remember exactly what they had but I would have given anything for a beer or a chocolate milk. I felt like an Ironman branded event should have more to offer finishers.

  • Comments: always a good race, lots of space for transisitions and port race activities. Ok down side is road conditions. All in all, not my best...the concert cost me minutes for sure and my goal time was sub 5hr. I did get a Vegas slot with rolldown so happy with that!

  • Comments: Racine seems to throw something at you - whether it's the heat, lake, wind or road conditions. This year it was the lake. Volunteers are great and it's really well run and so much fun.

  • Comments: What a neat race! The swim could have been smoother, but not bad for my first 70.3. Probably could have shaved off 1-1.5 hours if it were my A-Race. Next year I'll probably have a 70.3 as such a race and will be able to see how well I can do. Loving the new bike and just need to get it tweaked a bit. Feeling good about everything right now! Next stop, Ironman Wisconsin!!! :-)

  • Comments: Ironman employeed staff was pushy & rude around transition. I thought that was unnecessary. All the volunteer staff was amazing & awesome. The local spectators with the garden hoses were my favorite, very uplifting moment.

  • Comments: An amazingly fun debut at this distance! Proved to myself that I am a middle of the pack swimmer and kinda average triathlete now, I guess? Realised that I need lots more work on my bike power. Also got over my latest gear-tech-jealousy feelings by showing that you don't need expensive stuff to compete and enjoy the day; my $10 stopwatch and knowing my body is greater than a $400 garmin and not knowing how to use it; there were many aero-helmets that cost more than my bike frame, let alone wheels and frames that are about the annual income of a poor (and not even that talented) musician, yet none of that stopped me really enjoying my ride. At 3 miles into the run I said to myself that I have no urge to enter a full ironman-distance event for the rest of my 30s; I'll re-address this in my mid-life crisis. Lastly, apparently I had a smile all the way around the run course, and it is still lingering now THANKS - to my Missus, Mum, Dad, Sis, Adam and Rose, Steve at Comrade Cycles, whomever

  • Comments: This was my first big-scale event outside of Alaska, so I don't have much to compare to. However, I think it was great. IM Village was cool, everything was very well organized, well-marked (I tend to get lost), well supported, and everything was on time to the second. Tons of volunteers, even some who weren't official volunteers, just helping out in their yard as we went by, spraying us with water and cheering. I had a great time.
