  • Comments: The race venue is scenic esp for swim and transition . Northeast hosted the club championships this year bringing out strong competitors. The men's 50-54 AG outnumbered the 45-49..just unusual is all. 3 of my club members flatted. . At mile 18 the pavement was cut out across the road for 5'. PS should have laid a carpet on it and posted a volunteer. The overall would be winner was given a 2 minute penalty for a miss-rack of his bike. PS had poorly marked the racks due mostly to age of stickers. The USAT official was overzealous. Rules are rules but there was enough mitigating evidence not to penalize the winner knocking him back to fourth. Post race food is okay at best. Swag is a finishers shirt and medal. The intersections were well controlled for the bike. The run course was out and back on the shoulder of a straight hilly 272. The organizers had the out runners on the shoulder closest to the drive lane resulting in half of them running on the back runners lane typically resulting

  • Comments: Not thrilled with overall organization of Piranha Sports. Race director running all over the place. Badly handled situation with road repair on bike course. Practically nothing for post-race.

  • Comments: The weather was awful, but the race directors did a great job of getting our race in with a swim and bike and run. We started 30 minutes late but that was completely understandable under the circumstances. The after race events were not well organized, again because of the weather.

  • Comments: Really liked this race- I did NJ State last year and find CGI events to be well-organized, great volunteers and race directors, and just an all-around great experience. I will definitely be back next year.

  • Comments: Really good race until the end. The awards were the worse run i've ever seen...they didn't really announce it and seemed to just randomly start yelling names. They didn't give the winners time to get them either, they just announced rapid fire, then you gathered around a table to pick it up with all the other winners. Also food was pretty bad and located way back across transition, where you couldn't see it. Most people had no idea it was even there. Selection was pretty bad too.

  • Comments: CGI generally puts on good events - they've gotten so popular I missed NJ State in July and Northeast in 2009 because they sold out. As a cost-cutting measure they've implemented a 'take only 1 item' policy for the post-race food, which wasn't as good or nice as past year's events, fwiw. Lin-Mark handled the timing, which seemed to be a problem because results for the OLY took FOREVER to be posted. Folks were getting antsy / worried that they didn't get the timing right (?) Glad we waited since it turned out I got 3rd AG. Lin-Mark also uses these ridiculously large chip contraptions that feel like you're wearing a prison ankle "lo-jack" / anchor. Looks like they need to work out some bugs in their system.

I was surprised that you could not find any water at the start but one of the teams was kind enough to give me some vitamin water. To use race day packet pick up you had to pay $20, shame they don't allow for race day pick up.

  • Comments: This was only my 2nd Olympic distance race and first in 3 years. I signed up kind of late and didn't treat it as an "A" race and it showed. It was humbling not to have anything for the run because that is my strongest area. Overall a very good time. This has been my best year in triathlon mainly because of the friends I have made through BT. Before this year I did everything on my own but now I have friends to train with, race with, get advice from , etc. I really appreciate everything BT has done for me this year.

  • Comments: Good race, very well organized and neat little town to ride around. Hot Hot hot! Water being 85 degrees and the outside temps near 90 makes it a little hard to race. I guess I have to get used to this for Eagleman then.

  • Comments: CGI put on a great event. Thanks to everybody involved. One thing that irritated me -- and it was not the organizers' fault -- was all the gu packets I saw discarded on the bike course. The organizers explicitly asked that this not be done. The course goes through MD state lands at one point (isn't it Elk Neck State Park?). I hate to see this event shutdown because MD DNR complains. How hard is it to put the rolled-up empty in the leg of your shorts or the pocket it came out of?

  • Comments: Although I was very disappointed in the food (compared to NJ State this year, which was good) and the lack of water available pre-race, I do enjoy the events cgi puts on. Very organized, always on-time and a good competitive field. Parking was a bit confusing and I had a rather upset local ask me if the race directors "instructed us to park here because church was a nightmare." Of course at 530am, I, nor the other participants realized we parked in a church parking lot, which isn't the best place to park on a sunday.

  • Comments: Good race, even with the longish swim. Well run, lots of motivated volunteers and nice challenging course. I'd do it again. (As an aside, I initially was only going to do the sprint ..... which I probably would have won based on the times ... oh well, shoulda coulda woulda).

  • Comments: I really enjoyed this race. I did it with friends, which made it all the better. The volunteers were absolutely wonderful (especially the ladies who kept on giving me ice cold cloths during the run). I have already recommended this to friends as a must do for next year and I am ready to sign up again!

  • Comments: CGI Racing knows how to attract race sponsors! We walked away, after the post-race awards and raffle, and including race swag, with a t-shirt, 4 oversized water bottles, a large bottle of Hammergel, a TYR transition bag, a $50 gift cert. to trisports.com, and a new racebelt! Organization was nearly flawless. Only comment would be, all racers had to park about a mile away and walk in. The young guys all had backpacks and road their bikes, but with a family, this wouldn't work too well. Also, in the race lots, there was a bit of chaos in getting the cars parked; a parking attendant would have made the process a bit smoother, and probably could have facilitated better efficiency in the car arrangement.
