  • Comments: This is the 2nd year in a row that the race had to be cut short. There are very few places to stay in Cambridge. Logistically I think the race would just be better somewhere else. I think the race director did a great job with what he had and I think most of Cambridge is beautiful but I cant recommend this race to anyone for next year. It is just not a good time of year for this location, hurricane season and such a low elevation town.

  • Comments: The race director is amazing. The weather was dreadful. Cancelled swim, rerouted bike course due to flooding, then we had to run in flooding on the run! I'm so very thankful that I got to start early. It was terrible for the later folks for sure. No one on the run and it was dark the later it got. But everyone when I was out there was in great spirits. Even had a guy in a speedo in a lawn chair in the water cheering people on. And even Gerry stood in bare feet on the run course in the flooded area giving high fives. I just love the area, and Gerry. But the weather! ugh...This race needs to be in September.

  • Comments: Mother nature did a job on this race. I am glad the promoters cancelled the swim. It would have been a horrible day for most if they didn't. This was the most fun I ever had at a Ironman and will do this race again. I did a Ironman last month with similar race weather. Promoters did not cancel a single mile. Dozens of people were hurt. I will never do that race again. It's nice to see that people are looking out for our safety.

  • Comments: They cannot control the weather....but organizers still have a lot of changes they need to make with this event. Transition and gear bags are really a mess and could be SO much easier....

  • Comments: The local race director, Gerry Boyle, and his staff were amazing to get the race re-scheduled after the postponement. The event was well run as most Ironman events are. The only complaints about the event were the lack of food for spectators. The food truck could not handle the number of people seeking food. And the lack of a promised finish line beer garden. Otherwise, the race was great. The wind got very tiresome after a while.

  • Comments: First time ever an Ironman was rescheduled, and they really really made it work. First class event as usual, only difference was no bike handlers (which I actually liked better). Plenty of swag, food, volunteers, party zones, yeah, I'll be back.

  • Comments: This race being my first attempt at the IM distance I wanted a flat course. I think this is a perfect race for a first timer. (IM distance) The city of Cambridge really rolled out the welcome mat and the local volunteers were great. Besides the communication issue with the run cut off, I had a fantastic day and highly recommend this race.

  • Comments: Nice event. Not sure if there's any economical lodging and we paid 800 for 2 nights at host hotel...ouch. Like the venue and course...but i'm REALLY not cut out for this brackish salt water...!

  • Comments: This was a well run race. The bike was a little too flat and the run was too monotonous with 3 out and backs. But the overall organization and volunteers were great making it a fun race to complete. Great water stations on the run every mile loaded with goods. .

  • Comments: Hard to rate this race. It is a LOW KEY event. I think best aimed at experienced triathletes. It is such a different experience than the IM events, very little cheering and not nearly as much offered to eat/drink. But it was also the most relaxed one I've done. It didn't even hit me it was an ironman distance until the morning of! I love that it was only 2 hours away, and of course, it was free for me. I would recommend only for folks that want the distance challenge and don't need the pomp and circumstance. I for one love all that, but I also love the Cambridge area. I did NOT love the jellyfish!! :)

  • Comments: I could have used some more drink stations and porta johns on the bike course. The run course had three aid stations the first two were each mile while the third was a mile and a half out which made it mentally difficult. Very pleased with my time I wanted to break 12 hours and I did. Also I was not sure I would be able to finish this race so when I did I was a little emotional.

  • Comments: I took a journey through hell and emerged stronger than I was before. That was the most physically demanding day of my life. I absolutely could not have accomplished this life goal without the support of my amazing family. I hope this accomplishment is seen by my kids as a life lesson...anything you put your mind to CAN BE DONE! ...and, as a Vikings fan, does it get any better than to finish under the lights next to Vikings Stadium? :) I highly recommend this race to brave souls willing to take on the mighty challenge of 140.6. The race is incredibly spectator-friendly. Parking is right there next to the finish line...my wife and kids were out there for about 11 hours having a blast. (of course during my 1st run lap, they had the time to go hit Wendy's for dinner and Frosties) The race organizers could not have been nicer. The kind words from organizers, volunteers, and fellow racers were just AWESOME, and meant so much.

  • Comments: Great race, would like cold drinks at aid stations, but that may be normal for these events. I didn't take any pizza afterwords, didn't feel like anything just yet.
