  • Overall course based on my ability:

  • Comments: Very well produced race. The volunteers, especially at Sunriver for the run, were the best. The road from the lake was too rough for speed.

  • Overall course based on my ability:

  • Comments: The organization, volunteers and participants were all great very encouraging. I can't count how many times I had people telling me to keep up the work or good job etc. Over all it was a very positive experience even with my less then stealer performance.

  • Comments: So far, the best race event I've attended yet. Great location, great organization, great extras...the only flaw was the post-race food which was very unimpressive. Overall, a great weekend (loved watching the other races too!) and we'll definitely be back in the future!

  • Comments: At first I thought that my performance for the race wasn't that great. Then I looked at the results and I was solidly MOP for 40-44. So I'll take that. No niggling pains this race, which was good, just have to stay on top of hydration with the dryness and altitude. Every discipline could have been faster, but race and learn! If I do the race next year - hydrate, hydrate, hydrate, and maybe sign up for 40-44 instead of Athena for better swim position. Absolutely stellar location and race event. I will be back - and lighter hopefully!

  • Comments: Fun race, competing against Aaron... Organizers must figure out the bus transportation to lake - that was a mess and delayed start by 30 minutes. Will be stronger next time!

  • Comments: Most scenic course, hard to say if we will be back. The logistics present challenges getting to start and finish with family, etc. Staying in Sunriver seems to be the best way to do this event which raises the $$ commitment to compete.

  • Comments: The logistics were a real pain. T1 is at the lake, T2 is at an elementary school 28 miles away, and the finish line is a mile or so from T2. Spectating the day before and scouting the route... and then getting setup required more coordination, effort, and $ than preferred. We had to bus, leave our gear unattended all night, stand in line to get our bags back, and walk back to the car after the race to get supplies. I think I would prefer single point of transition/finishing.

  • Comments: This venue really is awesome. The volunteers are great. The run course is stocked with tons of water stations. The expo has lots of vendors. And obviously the weather conditions can't be helped, but they dealt with it quite well. The med tent was packed full at the end of the day, but it appeared that everyone was being attended to. As a last note, there was a death on the swim that morning. Details are still sketchy, but it is reported that the man swam to a jet ski and said that he was in trouble. He then passed out and was brought to shore where CPR was started. Some friends of mine witnessed the incident as they were finishing up the swim, which had to have been awful. Efforts to revive him were not successful and he was pronounced dead at the scene. My thoughts and prayers for his friends and family, who were also there that morning. Very sad. • Comments: Overall the race turned out okay, considering it was my first. I learned a lot about where I can improve and about race management. Hopefully the next race will be a lot better and cramp free.

  • Comments: I loved the Pacific Crest Weekend. I recommend it to anyone thinking of coming to Oregon for a triathlon or other endurance event. As a beginner, I'll say the Olympic Tri at PC was great and any one could do it as their first if they put some training in. I had a lot of people tell me I should do an "easier" tri for my first tri, but I would have been extremely disappointed had I done anything else.
