  • Comments: As usual, nice well-run race, probably the best duathlon in the area. Not particularly fond of the new venue, though the RD did not have a whole lot of choice this year. Hope they move it back to the traditional venue next year, as this one is rather dull, route is 95% on the service road of I-49.

  • Comments: Thirteenth year for this race, first under a new RD, but they didn't lose a step. Everything went well, beautiful day!

  • Comments: Great, well-organized and supported event by the same group that puts on CajunMan. Just a shame that the City of Opelousas doesn't appreciate the crowds that the event pulls into the city enough to at least make an attempt to maintain the road.

  • Comments: Great race, great friends, and I am so proud of the BEAR GANG! Dakota and Dante' worked hard and Dylan and BEAR did GREAT! It was good to meet another BTer and his girlfriend, Cassie. I also met ERN. He and his family were there. He, his father, and brother also got awards. A Cajun Tri Club member was taking pictures. Dylan is in many of them with his short sleeved blue shirt. BEAR is in some and I am the "JUMBO SHIMP" #50 in some. These can be seen at www.tri-cajuns.org. I was almost 3 minutes faster than last year. I did better on the walk, but the route was a little shorter this year. We turned a block earlier this year. We missed you today, Matt, Chris, Brandi, and John.

  • Comments: Post race Jambalya, Beer and lots of good folks!!! Oh yeah I did win a door prize too! If it weren't for the road quality I would have no problems rating this race a 5. Also, I wan't to point out that this is Louisiana's Duathlon State Championship race.... Lot's of big gun, heavy hitters showed up. I bet the transition area had $500,000 worth of bikes and gear in it... Lot's of quality athletes at this one..... :)

  • Comments: This is the "Louisiana State Duathlon Championship," put on by Rusty Bex and the guys that put on CajunMan, so they do a great job. Stuffed goody bags, lots of door prizes (Brandy and Matt each won one), good jambalaya, plenty of beer and other drinks post-race. Showing what a sorry state Louisiana is for duathletes, I ended up with second place in my AG, which was a nice surprise. Did shave nearly eight minutes off of last year, three minutes on the runs and five minutes on the bike.
