  • Comments: Since I had an early start, the weather was mostly cool and shady. My cousin was in one of the later corrals, and he said that it got hot. Lots of water water stops. On course distractions were fun, but Disney World was better (owning more land helps, I'm sure). Great medals. Post-race food was so-so. I had a banana and they gave each runner a box with peanut butter, a mini Clif bar, an Almond Roca, and some crackers. I believe that there were bagels as well.

  • Comments: Loved the race! Happy to have my Coast to Coast medal and even though Disney races are expensive and super early in the morning, they are a lot of fun!

  • Comments: This is Disney, so you know they are going to put on a top-shelf race. I was not disappointed in the least, and was thoroughly impressed with their management of the corrals and the finish area. Well done Disney - you make a great race for everyone.

  • Comments: Going to be hard to run a race after this. Tons of cheering and entertainment throughout the course, basically ran on excitement the entire race. Would recommend this race to anyone, it's hard to beat a Disneyland run!

  • Comments: This is a destination half mary for a lot of folks...lots of first timers (and walkers) and a heavily female field. The organizers make changes to it each year and mostly these are improvements. Much more of the course was in Disneyland proper this year, which had to please the destination racers. Generally a very, very flat course built for PRs for veteran runners and a good chance at finishing for first timers. There is a cutoff, though, based on a 16:00/mile pace. Great finisher medal. Lots of course support and fun sights...including the new touch this year of running through Angels Stadium.

  • Comments: Very well run race. Lots of stuff going on. Very entertaining. Obviously, Disney knows how to handle thousands of people at a time. I would definitely do this one again.

  • Comments: Great race and very well organized. Lot's of spectator support at the finish. Lot's of support from the Disney cast members, Mickey, Goofy, etc. as you run through the park at the beginning. Fun race.

  • Comments: Maybe it was because I arrived later then I wanted but this is not the race to get a PR on. I guess I should be happy I finished but my time is 30 minutes slower then my other two half marathons. This is a good race for fun but the bottlenecking was pretty frustrating. I would only do this again if I had friends competiting as well. Also I am not sure I like the long runs in the summer when it is warmer then the ones in January-March when it is nice and cool.

  • Comments: This is a very well organized race with over 10,000 entrants. Not a lot of serious runners, but more than enough to make it competitive. How can you not like a race through Disneyland? (Nice competitor t-shirt and huge finisher's medal.)

  • Comments: Fun fun fun race. The race through the park is exciting with the characters cheering the runners on. BTW... WHY would serious racers who were going for a 1:30 or so STOP in the middle of a race to get pics with characters? The race out of the park is also a lot of fun wiht lots of cheerleaders, bands and dancers. It keeps it all exciting. No fireworks this year, but they did start us off under a flaming start line which was EXTREMELY cool. Thank goodness the temperatures were so much cooler this year than last.

  • Comments: I like this race as I am able to mix an event with a family vacation. It's really crowded, but they do a good job. My daughter did one of the kids' races the day before and I may also start doing the 5K on that day. This was my second year doing this event and I'd like to do it every year.

  • Comments: The race was a lot of fun and a great family vacation. It was the first half for my husband and son who are not runners or triathletes. They did very well considering they'd never done anything like this before. My son (a swimmer) almost beat me and he'd never done ANY running before February and was suffering with a horrible case of shin splints. My husband said this was going to be his first and last 1/2 marathon. Now, he's ready to sign us up for the race in 2008! I'm disappointed because I had felt good leading up to the race and really thought I could make my goal time of 1:44. I was hurting post race, which has impacted my training schedule this week. No injuries, just extreme body aches, fatigue, and little nausea. I've never been that dehydrated. My heart rate monitor showed the temperature at 80F when the race started at 6:00. an avg. of 85F and a max of 92F (and I finished about 8:00 A.M.) It was over 95F when my husband finished around 9:00.

  • Comments: Definately organized better than last year (inaugural). Better traffic direction for the Expo and free Expo parking. Expo better than last year and very good for a half but okay for a race of this magnitude and stature. Pre-race accomidations okay with free water but no food at all. Last year they had the nerve to sell food like sausages, bacon...whatever. On-course support was excellent. The boys and girls scouts cheering at Angels stadium were awesome. Cheer squads, marching bands, Mexixcan dancers, and Hawaiian dancers were also great. Post race accomidations was good and horrible. Once you finished you got all the water, Powerade, bagels and fruit you could carry (I stayed under the canopy to refuel with oranges.) But once you picked up your bag, you were not allowed back to the refreshment areas and there was nothing in the family reunion area not even water! So our loving, supporting family and friends couldn't even get water to help endure the heat. You'd think with

  • Comments: Fun race, but the heat was brutal. Was hoping to run a sub 10 min/mile pace, but dismissed that from the beginning because of the weather.
