  • Comments: The road quality was horrible. I don't think I would do this race again because of this. They even advertised that the bike course was repaved, flat, and smooth. I beg to differ. But it was well run.

  • Comments: aid stations seemed further apart than 1 mile on my 2nd loop one was out of water and one was out of cups--they did fix this during the race

  • Comments: I was really suprised at how good I felt after finishing this race! I know I had an 18 minute break for the flat but I was still surprised how good I felt. I'm feeling the love for my coach, Tony. I followed his pacing (on the easy side of things) and his hydration/nutrition plan and I felt really good at the finish. Seriously, I love that man! Especially after seeing the kid bonking on the bike!!! It isn't easy coaching me...I whine a lot, have a ton of questions and push back on his answers at times. He has been patient and matter of fact with me, and I don't always appreicate that, but I sure did at the end of this race! :) It was AWESOME to have such a big cheering section of teammates from Fraser and Dave and Nell. It really makes the race when you share the experience with friends. :) I learned a lot. What I did right, where I went wrong, where I want to improve, and that I'm capable of more than I thought I was (but Coach and Ranger knew...) A special thanks

  • Comments: My results were great but inside it was a mental and physical struggle just about the whole way, but it didn't kill me so I'm stronger now, haha.

  • Comments: Overall, I'm glad I finished. Kenny and the 3D guys did a great job especially considering the T-storms trying to get out of our way in time to race. We only started 30 minutes late and the storms were gone for the day.

  • Comments: In this economy I'm not surprised things were scaled back. There was a lack of food for finishers who came in after 6.5 hours. They should have kept the families/friends away from the food until after all racers finished.

  • Comments: Was a pretty good race, rain delayed and waves caused rough start. Bike was ok need to get faster. Run was ok, had moments of mental fatigue. Will probably do it again next year.

  • Comments: I know 3D gets bashed a lot on here but they put on a great race. The volunteers were plentiful and the aid stations were all over the place for us. I would say it was a very well run race.

  • Comments: For the conditions, I think this event went off very well. I was obviously in the back of the pack and every aid station had at least water and Heed. Most of them still had ice and/or ice soaked towels too. I had the tools I needed to safely finish the race.

  • Comments: Unfortunately the bike course alone would make this course a race I would not want to do again. The road conditions were poor pretty much everywhere and horrid in some spots. An aid station right at a left hand turn to a busy intersection was poor placement as well. And last but not least, how on earth can you have a HIM distance race without one single port-o-john within the confines of the course??

  • Comments: This was a great samll race. Perfect for my first HIM. Everyone was really nice. We had a lot of fun cheering for people on the run course. I would definately go back and do it again. There were tons of well manned aid stations and volunteers directing traffic. The times above are off my watch. They are with in seconds of the actual times based on what I saw on the results sheet at the end of the race. A Special Special Thanks to Janice (foolproof) for being the best jackstrap ever and being my run angel. It was so great of her to fly all the way to Ohio to do this for me and I appreciate it more than I can say. Not too many people would run 13.1 miles for the first time in their life with someone but she did that for me. I am very fortunate to have such a good friend. We did have loads of fun and the shopping was great too :) Things to take away from this race. Clouds are your friends they cover the sun :) Stay in the moment. This worked really well for me. Listen
