  • Comments: Good race but often a little more hyped up than I think it deserves. Expensive and the Championship race has a lot of no-shows. There were lots of empty spots on the racks from people who did not show up.

  • Comments: This was a great event, I'm really glad I made the trip. It's nice to see such a well supported race. The volunteers were great, from way up on the bike course down to the parkiing crew.

  • Comments: Race start was delayed due to some freakish weather blowing through early on. Volunteers were EVERYWHERE. Local crowd support was fantastic!

  • Comments: For now I’ve cleared my schedule of all races and training. For now I need to get back to my roots and rediscover how much I love and enjoy running and biking. I think that in this race it was no longer about fun, it was not about the joy of speed and being around like minded people.

  • Comments: Hy Vee puts on an amazing show. They get volunteers to show in in massive amounts. There were so many volunteers out there. It was awesome and I will be back again. If I don't make the 5150, then I will do the age group and try again. Post race was plenty of food, water, gatorade and I always love the Wells Blue Bunny free ice cream. This was a great event. My only "issue" with the race was that I could not watch the pros. The last few years, the pros have started well after the Age Group triathlon was over. This year they started first. Maybe there was a need to change the schedule but I was not really happy with that. However, we did get to rub elbows with the pros at the swim start and I knew they were doing the exact same course as I was, only about 30 minutes faster !!!! :-) Great job HyVee and great job to my fellow Sux Tri Club members.

  • Comments: The crowd was amazing,including gumby (I'm pretty sure that I wasn't hallucinating). The race was run very professionally and the delay was not their fault since a thunderstorm had just rolled through. The atmosphere was awesome and the volunteers were great.
