  • Comments: First podium for me with a 3rd in my age group! Kinda lame medal, but I felt good knowing I worked hard this summer and it paid off. Chatted some more with Emily and got to watch her take home hardware as usual :-) We had great weather for this late in the year and the setting is very nice out there. Will likely do this race again.

  • Comments: It was fun. The results are still incorrect after a week. It started late but there were 3!!! water stops on the run, which is amazing. The finish line food is very limited - Chex Mix and Gardettos, water. They often have Gear West making hot dogs but I guessed I missed it. And frankly I'm not into supporting the hot dog industry. It's always a mixed bag with Front Runner.

  • Comments: Square Lake is an ideal place for a triathlon swim and the stairs to T2 offer a unique experience. The bike course is in rough shape in a stretch and made the race less enjoyable. The race events were late. The biggest let down of the day is crossing the finish line and seeing water and chex mix. Thanks to Gear West we got a hot dog.

  • Comments: I love this race. Probably one of the best venues for tris in the cities with a challenging bke and run and the water in the lake is very clear. Water temps are on the coolside, but comfortable. This year was a 20 minute improvement on the course in similar conditions from last year, but that was due to the amount of work I put in this summer compared to last summer. That and the amount of weight that I was able to drop this spring.

  • Comments: Love this course. Perfect level of challenge for me. Not easy, but also not impossible. Vacation Sports does pretty well with this race, and the location can't be beat. Love having a September race, too. Now I can kick back, enjoy fall, and focus on shaving a few pounds for next year's season.

  • Comments: I did this race for the first time 4 years ago (2006) as my first triathlon. It took me 2:25:50. I rode a mountain bike that year. It's great to gauge how far I've come and how much triathlon changed my life (quit smoking, lost loads of weight, etc) This race will always hold a place in calendar. Next year, podium?

  • Comments: Hilly bike and run. Roads fairly rough. It was nice to have my family there, including my wife's parents. I made the mistake when I got home of lying on the bed and I passed out for 2.5 hours. When I woke up my number had transferred to the sheet - dang.

  • Comments: I now realize what they mean by this race having the reputation of being a bit "loose". It was a good race and a nice, challenging course, but I'd recommend they get a few more bike course volunteers, and maybe try to set it up so exiting cars from the race aren't trying to use the same driveway that incoming runners are using. Overall, though, the beauty of the Stillwater area makes up for any shortcomings.

  • Comments: Great season closer. PR was unexpected, especially coming off of vacation. The lake water is great, the course is hilly, but beautiful. Would rather not run on dirt roads, but it was only for a mile. I will do this next year with Jason and Cindy, and if I register before January 1st, it's half price!

  • Comments: Great race. Wasn't going to do this one, but glad I did. Impressed myself on the swim and bike, but a few folks said the bike course may have been short...

  • Comments: It was a rate cold day with the temperatures in the 50's. The nice thing was that it made the swim really nice with the warm water. But when you got on the bike your body got cold and it was hard to warm up. My legs froze, especially my acillias tendons got really cold. Once I hit the run they began to hurt and didnt stop. They felt like they were going to snap and I finished the race running the whole way. The hardest part was the bike. Lots of hills made it difficult on the legs.

  • Comments: Great race, super courses and distance - cannot wait for next year. I would like to see more races provide more post-race snacks or foods. Also, how about some freebies in the race packet. I help w/ several running races and we always have samples drinks, snacks, products in the pre or post race goodie bag. Just my 2-cents worth.
