  • Comments: Love this course! In the past they transported your gear bag from T1 to T2 and gave it to you after the race. They decided not to this year and did not tell anyone. Many folks found this out in T1 right before the start of the race. Also, they didn't have enough folks marking racers-I have never seen that before.

  • Comments: Overall it was a good race. I am a little disappointed with lack of toilets at T1, with only one in the mens bathroom and one outside(well hidden) the wait time was ridiculous. The swim was great though, well organized start and finish. I liked how they didn't position the buoys in the direction of the sun like some races do. The bike was also great. Flat course, and good winds for most of the way. The other cyclists REALLY need to learn to stay to the right though because I was weaving in and out of people the entire race. It was madness zig-zagging through cyclists who were riding wherever they fancied in the road. The run was also good. Little peeved about those two volunteers, but it wasn't the RD's fault. There was adequate aid stations and the run course was clearly marked.

  • Comments: Boston Market post-race = yuck. This race is pretty good primarily due to the loop bike course and the scenic views. Running on the race track is cool also. This venue could support so much growth which could make this race special.

  • Comments: This was my first race ever so don't have much to compare, but I thought it was great. Especially thankful for the course 101 the day before. Having Heather there with me was so great and finishing together was such a rush! Having Scott and the kids there was also my inspriation.

  • Comments: Races are for me. I am out to prove that I can do something challenging however, you have have to push yourself. In terms of the swim, I am not challenging myself because I am not preparing myself. I can't just do the swim without practicing because one day I could find myself in a bad situation and no one there to help me. In the end, I did it and not a ton of people can say this is how they spent their Sunday.

  • Comments: Good race. I would do it again. I wish the swim portion was a little better and maybe they could trim up those trails if they're going to have people running through there. Maybe I'll do the Olympic distance next year...

  • Comments: nice... the island is just so run down though! I can't imagine going there for any other reason than an event like this. Looked like it used to be such a nice place. This was a great training day in preparation for BigFish OLY. I like 3D.

  • Comments: I had fun and that was the point. I didn't drown or walk or fall. I enjoyed the scenery and the people around me. This was perfect. Yes, I could have swam more of the course but I finished!! Oh yeah, I stuck around till the end when they the raffle. The first person won a wetsuit, the second number was called and no one came forward. They announced another number instead and lo and behold, "Number 684, Ted Mulch come up and grab your wetsuit!!" Nice!!!

  • Comments: This was a fabulous race experience for me! So many friends there to share the day with, my team and a great course in the city! Most excellent! I had SOOOO much fun! WHY I LOVED THIS RACE... Spunky Trixie pre race, all the hugs from friends before and after racing, hitting T2 with so few bikes hanging there, seeing Chris and Laura spectating, sharing Julies first race day experience with her, seeing Sushi and Tricia on the bike course, getting goosed by Trixie on the run, seeing so many of my peeps on the second half of the run, cooling down with Jeremy!, cheering in so many friends/teammates with KL, Smoak,Jen, Steve and Karen who shared (let me spill all over myself) her recovery drink at the finish, hanging with my #1 training partner pre and post race, getting teased by Steve and Pat, getting heckled by Ann and Carol, hearing how the most excellent Kimm got smooshed in T2 and still brought home the hardware, cheering on so many teammates and friends who placed, checking out

  • Comments: I was satisfied with this race. Still going to work on the run a bit and the weight coming off that will help. Im top 3-5 on the bike and swim consistently in all the races so far this year, my run is just a little bit lower, but not too bad. Just goes to show that being consistent in all events can go a long way in the final results and staying top 3 overall!

  • Comments: I really had a great time! It was a great race for beginners and I thought it was organized. The chips and body marking could have been faster. The worst part was not having enough bathrooms. I really enjoyed my first Tri. I can't beleive I did it! Awesome!

  • Comments: I definitely enjoyed this race and will seriously consider it for next year as an opener for the season. The Detroit and Windsor skylines were a great backdrop and overall the race seemed fairly well organized. I understand there were limited bathroom facilities but luckily my bodily functions were cooperating with me well that morning :) I'm also glad I got there a little early since the lines for body marking and timing chips got really long really fast.

  • Comments: This was a poorly organized race. With the cryptic prerace emails to the crappy markings/chip organization to the wave designation this should have been better put together.

  • Comments: The debacle of toilets, body marking and chip pickup at the beginning was a bit stressful. They could have used more volunteers. My feeling as well on the run course. The gal in front of me 100 yards asked a spectator if she was going the right way. From about .25 until mile 1 I felt a bit sketchy about where I was headed. Map on website is pathetic, in this day and age of Gmaps, etc.

  • Comments: Only a so-so race. They didn't have enough people doing body marking so the lines were exceptionaly long. They were handing out chips at T1 but wouldn't give you the chip unless you showed them your number; so people were having to go back to T2 to pick up their race belts (this was corrected later). Backup/manual timing had to be used do to problems with the ChampionChip system. Also didn't like the two transition areas. Prefer having all of my gear in one spot and not having to wait in line as they unload the swim gear from the truck. This is the only second year at this venue, and 3 Disciplines normally puts on a great race, so I am sure it will be better next year.

  • Comments: The two transitions was a bit confusing. Need to have a bigger bag for T1 to fit the wetsuit. The swim was too hard for me because of the current. Needed to have more waves to spread people out. On the positive side, the bike course was awesome and the run was decent although a little tight at spots. I would consider doing this race again next year. Also, the racing jerseys they gave out to all entrants were very nice.
