  • Comments: The awards ceremony was a bit of a cluster. It was held on the outdoor patio of a popular restaurant in town. It was very crowded and hard to hear announcer. Plus, people were trying eat as well--the servers were having a heck of a time!

  • Comments: Overall, it was an okay race for me. I wish I could get another chance at the swim - being successful there would have changed the complexion of the whole day. I feel good about the bike, as I was able to see improvements from a winter on the trainer. I was a little disappointed in the run until I put it in perspective. I was comparing the pace to what I do on a standalone run, and it looked awfully slow. When I started looking at times from past events, I was able to see that I am a little faster than I was at some similar events from last year. Overall, it was okay, but not exactly the race I was hoping for.

  • Comments: I though about how fortunate I have been in all my races since getting into the sport, with results and races that have always gone my way. I thought about the 1000's of hours training without any serious injury and never having crashed in my bike. I knew it was just a matter of time and that I was due. I could wallow in self pity or learn from my mistake and move forward. I choose the later. I later saw the results and realized that I would have likely been 2nd overall had I managed to finish the race and that was tought to take, but I am so lucky to not have really hurt myself badly and I can get back at it and move forward to the more important races of this season, culminating in IMAZ and hopefully another trip to Kona. :)

  • Comments: Great race. Well organized, plenty of volunteers- I never had any doubt where I should have been on the course. The volunteers were great. Bike course wasn't as hard as i thought it was going to be, had more turns than expected, nothing bad though. I am used to riding in Vegas at Lake Mead and Red Rock Canyon so I do a lot of hill climbing so I am sure thats why I didn't mind this course. The beginning of the run was a bit tough but overall it great.

  • Comments: This was my first triathlon!! I heard soo many people bad-mouthing the race afterwards saying they hated the bike. But it's a triathlon. ITS GUNNA BE HARD!! I personally loved the challenge and how my body and mind was able to push harder/faster than I thought humanly possible. Biking 1.5 hrs at LT and then running 6 miles a 9min/mile. Seems remarkable to me and shows me I did the course the fastest I possibly could. I gave it 110% and loved every second of it no matter how bad it hurt, that's all I could ask of myself. The crash was pretty sweet too, got tons of comments about how 'bad ass' I looked all cut up. Too bad it also ripped my brand new $120 tri suit. But I think it was almost worth it! After the race I sat down to eat next to a guy who told me he has done 35 Ironmans (he's 65) and he told me the hills were hard for him, so it made me feel much better about myself. People in triathlon are so nice and the races bring out the best in everyone. What an amazing sport and cannot wait

  • Comments: I had a good race. I wanted to be faster, but the bike course is just SLOW. I think breaking 3 hours here for how much training I have done and how hard the bike course was...I think that's good for me. I drafted on the swim which made me VERY happy. I pushed good watts on the bike. I ran the 10k under an hour. GOOD race for me. I was pretty upset at the lack of USAT officials. I saw no less than 15 people riding around before or after the race on their bikes with no helmets and not a USAT official in site. Did not see a single USAT official on the bike course and plenty of passing violations. Other than the USAT rule breaking, well organized/run race.

  • Comments: So this was a decent race. There were a LOT of volunteers, but there were a LOT of intersections. The water station volunteers were kids and a little flippy, but tried :)

  • Comments: Race didn't start on time. Bad omen. Course was long. Bike was very slow with all the turns. No carpet over dirt section was bad idea. Volunteers (Boy Scouts) were not paying attention to what was going on. No gatorade on course until 1/2 way point. Waited for 3 hours, no awards. So - it's a 3/10 on my scale.

  • Comments: The Race Director is a sadist. The swim course was long, the bike course was evil, and the website was less than comprehensive in warning racers about what type of course this was... I would not have done this race if I would've guessed it'd end up being a 4 hour event. Even the fast guys added some 30-45 minutes to their times. This was my slowest olympic Tri ever, and primarily due to the course - it added almost an hour to my usual time range.
