  • Comments: I like Midwestern Sports puts on a good event. They could have used more water on the course with heat indeces nearing 100F, and maybe more kayaks on the course. Also think there are zebra muscles in this lake. My feet got sliced in a few places.

  • Comments: In spite of my suckola race, I did come in 3rd in my age group because of the 4 entrants in the women's 45-50 AG, only 3 showed and I therefore came in 3rd ;) What a hoot! They are going to mail me my trophy cuz I didn't even check afterwards...can ya blame me? Who'd a thunk?! Probably my one and only trophy so I'll take it. My 5 year old son was ecstatic when I told him I get a trophy! ;)

  • Comments: Post run food was pathetic. Bananas and couple chunks of dry bagel was all there was. I have done this race since it started 4 years ago. I always enjoy it and this year was no exception. Good time with my family, great friends and a PR to boot. What's not to like!

  • Comments: the water stations on the run were pitifully undermanned (the one at the turnaround you took the cup of the table yourself) and it seemed the people that were there didnt quite understand how to do it.....more volunteers out on the bike course couldve been useful as well. food was basically gone when i went to grab some grub causing me and the schwimmycoacher to stop at wendy's on the way home!!

  • Comments: They were out of plates and out of a bunch of food, and they really needed bottles of water or something at the end. I guess that's the downfall of doing the Olympic. The sprinters eat it all before you get back.

  • Comments: My only complaint for this race is that there was little to no water and food left at the finish line. Otherwise, I had a great time at this race. I am glad I made the trip. All the Donkeys and donkey families rock. Congrats to DeannaS and Schwimmy Coach on their first Oly's, jmwebs for his PR, bunnyT for his first "tri" and OWS, djdavey for his effort, wit and encouragement in the waning days of his Ironman training, and of course pjgrande and tripletmon for their hardware. Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Got to meet BpMoozer. She gave me a shout out on the run course and then came to introduce herself in transition after the race. Thanks for coming over and great to meet you.

  • Comments: Last year's finish time 3:22.7. This year 2:59.10. At first I was somewhat disappointed in my overall rank in the field. I was hoping to be a MOP. However, after the kid's race my kids were bummed about their BOP status (some of theose kids are crazy competitive). I told them that the only person I was going to be racing against was jmwebs (or Dad as they know me) of last year. I told them the important thing was to do your best and have fun. When I look at this race with that standard, it was a major success. However, 2007 jmwebs, better watch out because I'm gunning for him next year!

  • Comments: Overall a very good race. HR was high thoughout the race, but that probably stemmed off of whatever was going on with me this past week. The race was well organized and ran very good. They could have used some security around the transition area though. Nice course. Ill be back next year!

  • Comments: This was my first Oly race. I knew that I was a bit undertrained for this distance and I was right. Dispite all the problems and my slow pace, I was the most relaxed I have ever been and enjoyed the journey. Lots of lessons in this one. I was overjoyed that my wife and kids where there, it meant a lot to have their support. It feels great to take the next step in this triathlon madness.

  • Comments: As has been mentioned. Sara was there the night before and gave a great talk. Also, Thanks to the young lady that is starting medical school next week. The chattting during the run allowed me to finish the run without walking.

  • Comments: Sarah Reinertsen, first above the knee amputee Ironman finisher, was at the race, gave a very inspiratiional speech the night before at the pasta dinner. Got to met her and got a pic with her. As for the race, This wasmy first Oly, definitely pushed my limits further than I ever have before, if there's a body part that doesn't hurt I haven't found it yet. Did the race with a sore achillies and a swollen ankle so didn't push it as much I feel I coud have (especially the bike) so looking forward to my next oly (did I just say that).
