  • Comments: Stuck around to get my award. Still trying to figure out what it is, but my best guess is a cartoon character of a chalice holding a replica of, ironically, a chalice that he is using to pour himself a drink into himself. Awesome bizarre, but I love it!

  • Comments: Great race overall. Courses were good except the run portion had a loop around the cones a couple times which I thought could have been eliminated by simply making the course a straight shot out and back. Bike was flat and fast overall, swim was course was ok. Good overall race that I hope to do again.

  • Comments: I only give it a 4 because the course has some areas that IMO are dangerous. Other than that, as usual, RDE does an excellent job!

  • Comments: I love this race which is why it is the one I am doing this year. I have know what I can do here and really think I would have been in contention for the AG win without the long night before the race even with the lack of training. The AG winner was only 3 minutes or so ahead of me and most of that I could have cut in T-2 and the run. My running has been good as of late so I know I missed out on my best. Still, as I had in my head going in, go as hard as I could and see what happens.

  • Comments: I really liked this race and the venue. I do think the run route could/should be improved. If they could at least remove the weird, wooded trail area, that would be great.

  • Comments: I liked this race. It is a great race for beginners since there is the super sprint distance. There was some confusion on the run course over who was going what direction. Luckily I knew one of the guys at the water station and he knew I was doing the sprint so he was able to shout out to me where to go but I do know a couple of people got pointed the wrong way. But that will happen when there are multiple distances. But overall definitly a good well run race.

  • Comments: Honestly, for the hefty price tag attached to this race, I expected it to be a bit better organized and for the post race food and activities to be better. Yes, it's for a good cause, but a premium price demands a premium race experience. The Awards presentation was just ridiculously long. As for Charles, enjoy the victory while you can, my "friend". You have rekindled the fire in my belly. I will train each day with the no other thought on my mind than crushing your spirit and exposing you for the mangy, lowdown, ambushing coward that you are. Oh, and congrats on taking second place in your AG, Charles. Azz-hat.

  • Comments: The only personal gripe I have is that the overall winners were also included in the age-group awards. The OA first and second were also the age-group first and second in the M40-44. I took 5th in the age group but would have podiumed otherwise. Not a big deal, but I prefer when the RD take the OA winners out of contention for the age-group awards.

  • Comments: Love the race itself very nice lake, good course and the peeps are the best but this year seemed less organized. The parking was a mess, I talked with our lifeguards(they were from my Y) said the needed more out there, know the bike had to be changed but HWY 67 was not fun to ride on! Needed water at the turn around of the run. With all that said I will be back next year as will my kids! We still had a blast!

  • Comments: With a PR on both the bike AND the race itself (My previous fastest sprint was 1:33) I can't really complain. Yet I have lots of room for improvement on both the swim and run and need to pick up some tech for the bike. Once I lick all those things, I should be close to my long-term goal of a sub 1:15 race.

  • Comments: A little chaotic... running the 3 races at one time was very confusing for the volunteers and especially the Olympic distance athletes. Volunteers were unsure of which way to direct athletes, depending on what length race they were doing. I had no issues, but I heard a lot of frustrated outbursts around me.

  • Comments: Couple of the things that were done my the race organizers were a little effed up in my opinion. Luckily I know the RD, so I will be chatting with him. I think it was too much to have the Super Sprint, Sprint, and Oly on the same day. It caused some problems on the bike and run course with people taking the wrong turns and accidentally cutting the course.

  • Comments: No water set up for before the race, just a small issue! Swim distance not advertised on the web site, or mentioned at the race. THAT was really odd! Bike distance not accurate. But, I shouldn't be an armchair race director! Great food after, and they did NOT run out! Cute awards for first...little bobble head runners! 7th OA female!! Yeah, felt good, and results sort of showed it! Guess the mega miles riding has helped!
