In 2012 the race returned to Des Moines, where competitors swim in Gray’s Lake, bike through historic Des Moines, run along the Des Moines River and finish at Iowa’s most recognized landmark–the Iowa State Capitol. Hy-Vee has partnered with World Triathlon Corporation to host the U.S. Championship of WTC’s new 5150 Series.
