• Description: This is a GREAT TRI for experienced triathletes, as well as well-prepared first-timers who can swim open water. (Newbies must be COMPETENT swimmers in open water, especially kids. Must swim 10:00 or better for 300 meters in open water to participate.) Our 21st ANNUAL and popular! A 300-meter straight-shot, wide, point-to-point lake swim in First Colony next to the transition area/ 10-mile bike on a safe, divided four-lane boulevard with plenty of SLPD protection/ 3-mile double-loop shaded neighborhood run with four water stations. Late October weather is normally pleasantly cool, but not extremely cold. In 2012, air temp was 72 degrees and water temp was 80 degrees. Many in the field are first-timers, who will receive first-timer medals at Memorial Hermann tent, as well as hundreds of multi-year returnees. All ages 10-80 are welcome.
